  5. Hi All, Is anyone using Nitrogen or CO to clean minor dust out of spirit bottles, pro's /con's If you are using it how are you introducing it ? short blast with a hand held device like an air gun with an extended tip/nozzle? or is there a bench top device that the bottle could be pushed down on ? Thanks Lorenzo
  6. Sandytoes, I'm in touch with the Mettler Rep, their unit is looking pretty good price wise, saves about $800.00 over Snap 51. seems like a pretty good product, I'm also looking for comparisons to Anton Par Lorenzo
  7. Hi Everyone, Well we are searching for a POS system for our tasting room, there so darn many of them ! and the sales people will tell you it will even take out the garbage just to close a sale ! those of you that have tasting rooms please comment on what you are using and if long term contracts are required, and how the credit card processing is handled. Thanks ......Lorenzo
  8. Hey Lenny, I've been looking for one also, there is a Still company, i think its Specialized or Specific or something like that they brought one to an ADI conference a couple years ago, but way out of my price range !!!, found a couple of used pump over tanks that are used in the wine industry on Brew Bids but they both sold before i could pull the trigger, I still looking, but if anyone could build one it would be Paul !
  9. Thanks everyone, all of you were very helpful, Bluestar you you nailed it, the person I spoke with at TTB essentially same the same thing if it stays in production , but questioned my process to make the GIN, my product will state distilled from grain, (if they approve it !! 😁) Lorenzo
  10. Hi All, Recently submitted an application For COLA approval, for our Gin, on the first go we were told to make corrections , a commodity statement was needed, so on the back label we inserted 100% neutral spirits distilled from grain, we were rejected and told by the reviewer that we will need an approved formula ! I’m confused we are using our own Vodka, and botanicals by vapor infusion. I’m not embarrassed to say that I’m new to distilling, but someone correct me I can find nothing online on the requirement for a formula for botanical Gin. What should appear on the label for a commodity statement.? Maybe “distilled from grain” Thanks. Lorenzo
  11. Hi Skaalvenn, Starcat Great info, Skaa, what is the system that you are using, are all the components from same company, I have been shopping California Air, Chicago Pneumatic and a few others, cost is up there and I'm pricing a 18 CFm @175psi system.
  12. Hi There, Having recently purchased a pneumatic bottle filler and air compressor with Coalescing type filter, and will be using food grade lubrication,we have been told by the company that installed the unit that we should have an air dryer for our compressor as the filter will not be enough to keep condensate etc from ending up in the spirits ! Can anyone give me some advice on this, are most of you using an Air Dryer refrigerated or other wise in connection with your bottling line? Thanks
  13. We recently sealed our concrete floor ourselves by doing the following, first although we have a new floor concrete floor we washed the floor squeegeed to remove the dust etc. Rented a Clark machine from HD bought a series of high grit pads, re wet the floor and scarified the entire floor( 5000 sf )used both a vacuum and squeegee to remove all the water and cement residue, after a few days of drying time we applied a clear floor sealer aliphatic urethane by using garden sprayer and 12 inch low nap roller made for use with urethane. It will be ok to walk on in 24 hours, we applied a second coat same process only rolling it in the opposite direction, we now have a clear mat finish that although will show scuff marks, should last at least 5 years and the best part it won’t peel off the floor , We Hope ! lorenzo
  14. Hi, shopping for barrel racks and found some on NT. That look good and the same price as some of the used wine barrel racks . Just curious to see if anyone is using them and if the design makes a difference when moving or stacking with your.fork lift. Thanks. Lorenzo
  15. RUM, I have been looking at the same bottle rinser, haven't received a call back from CCR, Question, what is the compressed gas u are using and how big is the recommended 30 gallon tank, oh and approximate cost for the gas? Thanks, L
  16. Laguna can the equip table be fitted with wheels ? Where are you located.......
  17. Thanks for the link foreshot, although our distillery isn’t open yet, we started with the notion of becoming a destination, as we are located near the Second largest cruise port in the Southeast, which hopefully will bring us visitors for our tour/taste adventure ! Lorenzo
  18. Jake, I feel for you we almost became a victim of the Corson group, in conversations with them something just didn’t feel right so my business partner started checking into there business, that coupled by all of the red flags that went up on this forum we may have lost our butts ! If they succeed in filing chapter 11 bancruptcuy, you may not see a dime of your hard earned money, that is not a reorganizational filing its liquidation. I’m by no means educated in bankruptcy law but from what I have read ,There may be a long list of creditors, vendors or banks that have a first class seat to pick the bones of what money or assets they have left. Best of Luck
  19. One would think that the state attorney general would step in, if this company is taking orders, not delivering, threatening customers seems like some serious legal issues, I read the past post on this company and seems like there are already several law suits pending or settled but it doesn’t seem to stop consumers from doing business with them.
  20. Please send us your contact information,I may be able to move some of your barrels.....Lorenzo
  21. Hey there, i had the chance to read someone’s Shanken Report, most of the information seems to be a reliable but very expensive , you can obtain lots of the same statistics and information from most of the free subscriptions. Market Watch, Wine Business, Discus, and a host of others, and don’t forget ADI Distiller Magizine. Lorenzo
  22. Kris, Are you like pumping the GNS into the bottles, using your filler for a few seconds or what ? I looked at TCW system, has a tank for I assume water, and a filter mounted to its stand, just a little out of my price range right now, I've been thinking about straight CO2 hooked up to a typical air nozzle with at least a 1/4 inch by 10 inch copper or ss tube sort of like an ice maker line. After some experimenting not sure if its just scattering about the dust and micro debris.if I remember my chemistry Argon is heavier and may make a difference but cost is nearly 3 times LOR
  23. Silk, just to remove dust particles, new bottles that do not come in 6 bottle cases seem to have static type dust in some of them.
  24. Hey everyone, looking at several processes to clean bottles before filling slowest but most economical way is to sparse with either Co2 or Argon gas, the latter cost more but have been told it does a better job. Water and drying on a rack or tree is an option but more time consuming. Anyone doing the gas method. Thanks, Lorenzo
