Thanks! I've got about 40,000 with a 28mm cap finish, as well as black and silver caps. If you need some, I can definitely let a few pallets go. LocalChoiceUS
Do you still have bottles available? Can you send pics?
blackheart2
From what I have been told, the major domestic manufacturer, Piramal has sold their Missouri plant and moved their molds and production to existing operations in India. They are not expected to have US inventory built back up until late this CY, if at all. OI, Anchor have been taking up the slack in available inventory but cannot keep up. Add to this the cost of sea freight. It has almost tripled this year. So, the distributors of glass in the US, the people most of us buy bottles from, are facing scarcity and higher shipping costs to get what they can. To us: a dry marketplace and higher costs (if you can get it).
Silk City Distillers
Was sad to hear about Piramal decision. Will certainly impact the smaller distillers who don’t have the space to store bulk inventory. The ease of availability was a huge benefit for us. Getting caught short is a major problem. We grabbed 5 skids (last we could get our hands on) just to have some extra safety stock, because who knows what kinds of issues we will have with availability going into the end of year. Pretty sure if I called a few days later, I’d have been SOL. Suspect many small distillers may be caught short heading into the holidays. Get your plan B ready. saaz
I know the Asian market it not easy right now with shipping containers. Does any know if the US dumping tariffs every went into play with spirit bottles from China? The guy I use to import says he can see the 20% or 25% normal tariff, but does not see anything with the anti dumping tariffs. If you google it you will see you can see many articles like the one attached it should be in place but you can not see the amount of the tariff. I am still seeing many distilleries bringing in glass containers. I know there are some games of shipping to other countries first. Does anyone buy bottles direct from China. Could you please chime up and let us know how that is working for you? https://www.packaging-gateway.com/news/doc-us-cvd-china/
LCS_distillery
New to distilling, just received my DSP and still pre-production, but have been brewing for 20+ years. I can’t speak specifically to bottles, but have been importing a 40hq container of cans per month from China for nearly a year. The 25-30% tariff and duty are not the issue, since the glass and aluminum can prices are so low. Shipping is the problem... container rates have gone from $5K per container to $16K+ in the past 8 months. It’s unsustainable

It’s unsustainable I have an average of 10 containers of cans coming into my east coast warehouses every month. Freight is definitely a factor. My domestic sources actually end up costing less per can than the imports due to freight.
