These Marines have been closely watching how combatants in Ukraine use such tiny drones and loitering munitions. When General Berger visited an air station in nearby Yuma, Ariz., the next day, a Marine fighter pilot said his unit was evaluating counter-drone technologies so that his fellow Marines would not one day “end up as TikTok videos” — a nod to the stream of videos on social media sites showing Russian troops being attacked by Ukrainian quadcopters dropping small grenades.

The Council adopted a decision increasing the financial ceiling of the European Peace Facility (EPF) to €7.979 billion (in current prices) until 2027, ensuring that additional financial needs can be covered.
"The European Peace Facility has now become an integral part of the EU’s support to promote peace and security globally. Today’s decision brings the financial ceiling of the European Peace Facility to over €7.9 billion. Ensuring the financial sustainability of this instrument is crucial for our support not only to Ukraine, but also for our partners in other parts of Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as needs continue to arise." - High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy - Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell.
Thanks to the EPF, the EU has been supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces through seven successive support packages so far, as well as many other countries.
The European Peace Facility was established in March 2021 to finance all common foreign and security policy (CFSP) actions relating to military and defence matters, with the aim of preventing conflict, preserving peace, and strengthening international security and stability. In particular, the European Peace Facility allows the EU to finance actions designed to strengthen the capacities of non-EU countries and regional and international organisations in relation to military and defence matters.

But there are even sharper rumors that allegedly in the Turkish profile community yesterday it was said that the attacked drone could not be the MQ-9 Reaper at all, but the RQ-4B Global Hawk. At least in this area, his work was observed and at about the same time as the incident occurred, he "disappeared from the radar." What this means is difficult to understand, but several of our colleagues wrote approximately the same messages. Perhaps this device really worked in this area, and after the incident with the MQ-9 Reaper, it turned off the transponder and, having set interference, left the operational area.

If we only assume that we are talking about a different car, then the situation immediately changes. Firstly, this device is twenty to thirty times more expensive, and secondly, it has the dimensions of a modern, light fighter. And most importantly - it does not have any screws. He works at high altitudes, at high speed, and the range of his reconnaissance missions is simply huge. Just note that one copy of such a drone, depending on the configuration, costs several tens of millions of dollars more than a heavy fifth-generation F-22 fighter. And of course, it is ten times more expensive than the Su27 that attacked it. So sacrificing your airplane, in this situation, would be a good idea for Russia.

The loss of just such a drone would be extremely sensitive for the US Air Force, but it would be difficult to say what response would follow, since Iran shot down a naval version of such a drone over the Persian Gulf several years ago and received no tangible response for this. But unlike that long-standing situation, the United States now has a much larger arsenal of opportunities in order to give a non-symmetrical response.

Well, we see here an ideal opportunity to raise rates without a head-on collision - to supply combat aircraft to Ukraine. The problem for the Americans is that they are afraid of provoking a direct conflict, but the Russians, Iranians and Chinese are not afraid. And every time their attacks go unpunished, they assert that the Americans will turn away and will not "aggravate". But we can aggravate and we have no problems with this. And if you simply have a huge number of planes that could land all of Putin's aviation in the Black Sea, but are afraid to do this, then put this weapon into the hands of those who are not afraid of it a priori. If this happens today, then in two or three weeks there will be no Russian aggressor planes or warships left there.

"Russia's tank building" is a pathetic parasite on Soviet developments and as a branch of the military industry producing new equipment, it never arose
This was announced by Andriy Rudyk, a representative of the Center for the Research of Trophy and Prospective Weapons and Military Equipment of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Military Media Center. The theme of the event is the Russian T-90M "Breakthrough" tank and its shortcomings.

According to Andriy Rudyk, during the study of the T-90M trophy sample captured by our soldiers in September 2022, servicemen of the Center for Research of Trophy and Prospective Weapons and Military Equipment of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine established numerous facts that "Breakthrough" is the upper limit of what that was able to squeeze out the Russian military-industrial complex from Soviet developments.
- Examinations of the T-90M trophy sample showed that Russia not only does not produce electronics for it, but also tries to hide information about the origin of its individual components. Sometimes the situation is brought to the point of absurdity — Russia simply passes them off as its own development.
- The leaked fire control system "Kalyna" from Russian has only markings, - emphasized the representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the representative of the Center for the Research of Trophy and Prospective Weapons and Military Equipment, the sanctions turned the production of the T-90M from serial production to individual production. According to open sources, Russia had only 100 units of such equipment in service. That's why the enemy, suffering huge losses and trying to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is forced to deconserve old and "naked" T-62 and T-72.
In addition, according to Andriy Rudyk, the engine of the B-92S2F tank comes from the B-2 engine of the 1937 model, which was still on the Soviet T-34 tank! That is, in this part, the T-90M conceptually belongs not to the era of perestroika, but to the times of Stalinism. One fact speaks eloquently about the complete exhaustion of the modernization resource and moral obsolescence of this engine - in hot climates (for example, in the steppes of Ukraine) its power drops by a third.
To date, the Soviet Union has lost 15 T-90M "Breakthrough" units in Ukraine

"The main model for the modern US Republican Party is Ronald Reagan. He combined principles and practicality and proved his policy to people through persuasion. He combined the rapid expansion of United States military power with diplomatic efforts to end the Cold War. He considered the fight against the Soviet Union a matter of morality, but he did not hesitate to arm the enemies of communism... Helping Ukraine today means acting in the tradition of the Reagan doctrine."
These theses are the main opinion of the editorial of the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, which came out in response to the latest statements regarding the Ukrainian course of the governor of Florida, Ronald DeSantis, as well as other representatives of the Republican Party of the USA.
The collective position of the editorial team of the WSJ is a very authoritative voice for the American political and public environment, in particular for conservative circles.
The editors emphasize that "Reagan would not allow a false choice between influencing world relations and managing economic and social problems at home. He considered a dynamic economy and cultural unity as key elements of national strength. Reagan hated nuclear weapons and wanted to protect against their use. But he did not allow Soviet threats to dictate US actions, unlike the way the populist American right treats Putin."
"The policy of Ukraine may change depending on the events on the battlefield. If Ukraine succeeds in winning, despite Republican calls for a retreat, the Republican Party will lose one of the main positions on which party voters rely on national security. In such a case, it will be even more difficult to mobilize support and resources to strengthen US military deterrence against China."
"And if Russia swallows all or most of Ukraine? Putin will then move closer to the Polish border and become an even stronger hostile force in Europe. The United States will be drawn even deeper into the problems of the continent, unable to focus on the threat from China, which will in any case decide that America has become weaker…”
"Reagan declassifies some right-wingers. And China, Russia, and Iran are joining forces to threaten the United States. This has not been seen since the 1980s. Reagan's warning in his 1983 speech about the "evil empire": "Beware of the temptation of pride", the impulse to "safely" declare oneself "above it all", "ignore the facts of history" and call the confrontation "a giant misunderstanding" still remains relevant. and "therefore to be removed from the struggle between good and evil".

Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war in Ukraine. This is evidenced by the night attack of Russian drones.

US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink recalled that yesterday Moscow was talking about peace.

"After all yesterday's talks in Moscow, again Russian missiles and again drone attacks on civilians at night make it very clear how much President Putin is interested in a just peace or an end to the war he started," the diplomat wrote on her Twitter.

On the night of March 22, the Russian army hit Ukrainian cities with drones - a total of 21 drones were launched.

The Ukrainian military shot down 16 Russian UAVs. At the same time, an “arrival” was recorded in the Kyiv region, as a result of which people died. Damage to civilian objects is reported.

As of today, March 22, Russia forcibly deported (stole) 16,226 children from Ukraine. This is only a name list that was compiled from statements from parents, relatives, local authorities or witnesses.
The real number is more...

Ukraine's presidential commissioner for children's rights, Daria Gerasimchuk, told DW that the figure could be much higher.

"This is not just a number, but a list of names, which is made up of statements from parents, relatives, local authorities or witnesses. This information is checked by the relevant authorities, and a case is opened for each child. That is, this is recorded data. But part of the territory of Ukraine is under occupation, and we do not have access there, therefore, only after the de-occupation can citizens notify who and when was abducted. Therefore, we can talk about several hundred thousand abducted children, "explained Daria Gerasimchuk.

Gerasimchuk noted that the Russian authorities are announcing the "evacuation" of 744,000 Ukrainian children. This figure is considered unreliable, since it is not confirmed by any lists or personal data. The presidential commissioner also told how the return of the kids is going on.

“In order to find and return a child, you need to know who to look for. That is why a unified state platform “Children of War” was created, which contains up-to-date information and personal data of children affected by the Russian war. At the same time, the Russians hide as much as possible our children are being moved, they are trying to change names and the like," said Daria Gerasimchuk.

According to Gerasimchuk, the most difficult thing is to look for small children who do not remember where they are from.

“A very important point is whether the wanted child has relatives in the controlled territory of Ukraine, who can get custody and go to pick her up with the support of the state. I cannot voice details, routes or scenarios for the return of children. next time it will not work. In general, a large state team is working on the return of children," summed up Daria Gerasimchuk.

The Russian Federation is kidnapping Ukrainian children to replenish its nation and make them Russians.

Ukrainian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Daria Gerasimchuk said that the actions of the aggressor country indicate that she does not plan to return children to Ukraine, writes DW.

"The Russian Federation has accelerated the procedures for adoption and change of citizenship, provides free education for children from Ukraine. Moreover, the Russians select children by conducting so-called medical examinations, which divide children into categories. That is, they want to select the most healthy and replenish their nation for account of Ukrainian children," Gerasimchuk noted.

According to her, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, the invaders had a clear plan of what to do with Ukrainian children. Its implementation began after the attempted annexation of the Crimean peninsula in 2014.

"The Russians changed the citizenship of children and created the so-called" train of hope ", by which citizens of the Russian Federation traveled to Crimea for the illegal adoption of children. Now Russia has at least five scenarios for the abduction of children. We came to this conclusion after analyzing the path of 308 children who succeeded return to parents in the controlled territory of Ukraine," the authorized representative added.

Scenarios for the removal of Ukrainian children

The first option involves the separation of children from the family during the so-called filtration. In this case, the parents are groundlessly detained, and the children are simply taken away. There was a situation when the father of three children was detained for three months, and his children were taken to the Russian Federation. Ukraine managed to return them back to the family.

"In the second scenario, the Russians kill the parents and then take the children. In the third scenario, the children are taken directly from the biological family. Sometimes this is done by depriving them of their parental rights. Usually, this measure is applied to "uncomfortable parents" who do not want to cooperate with the occupying authorities" - said Gerasimchuk.

According to the fourth option, the Russians do not allow Ukraine to take children from institutions of institutional care who have come under occupation. Russia has never coordinated humanitarian corridors for the removal of these little Ukrainians. Instead, they are kidnapped. Thus, the occupiers took the children out of four institutions, but Ukraine was able to return two of them.

Instead, they are kidnapped. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, children have been kidnapped from four institutions, but we were able to return them from two.

“The last, fifth, scenario is the most common. First, the Russians create conditions unsuitable for children to live in the occupied territories. And then they offer parents to send the child to allegedly recuperate in holiday camps in the Russian Federation. Children do not return from this camp, they are moved without the consent of their parents. Some of the children we managed to return were in such camps for more than a year," she summed up.

Deportation of Ukrainian children

As UNIAN previously reported, in November, the Russian authorities began to openly advertise the forced adoption of Ukrainian children. They said that only the occupied territories of Donbass they took out more than 150 thousand babies.

Children's Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova, who adopted a boy from Mariupol, was engaged in propaganda of the illegal adoption of abducted children. Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly praises this practice.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday (21 March 2023) launched his annual report for 2022, covering all aspects of the Alliance’s work over the past year.
President Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine is the biggest security crisis in Europe since the Second World War. It is not only a direct threat to the existence of Ukraine as a free and independent country, but to the entire rules-based international order. Putin must not win. If he does, it will show that aggression works and that force is rewarded. This would be dangerous for our own security, and for the whole world.
This war did not start in 2022, it started in 2014, when Russia illegally annexed Crimea and entered eastern Ukraine. Since then, NATO Allies have trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and supported its defence and security sector. NATO will continue to stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes.
NATO Allies shared precise intelligence about Moscow's plans for an invasion long in advance. We tried until the very last minute to engage Russia in diplomacy to convince it not to invade Ukraine, including at a meeting in January 2022 of the NATO-Russia Council. Russia walked away from this dialogue.
Since the invasion, NATO Allies provided unprecedented support for Ukraine, with around USD 120 billion of military, humanitarian and financial assistance in 2022. While the United States is the largest single contributor, Europe and Canada provided over half of the overall assistance. Europeans also welcomed almost five million refugees from Ukraine. Europe and North America continue to apply unprecedented economic sanctions. This demonstrates the strength of North America and Europe standing together.
Since 2014, NATO has implemented the largest reinforcement of our collective defence in a generation. It meant that when Russia launched its fully-fledged invasion of Ukraine, NATO was ready. We activated our defence plans within hours, doubled the number of NATO's multinational battlegroups from four to eight, and increased our military presence from the Baltic to the Black Sea, on the land, at sea and in the air.
In June 2022, at NATO's historic Madrid Summit, Allies agreed a further fundamental shift in our deterrence and defence to make clear that we will defend every inch of NATO territory. We upgraded our defence plans, put more forces at high readiness, and pre-assigned forces to defend specific Allies. We committed to station more troops and preposition more equipment and weapon stockpiles in the east of the Alliance. And leaders agreed to significantly increase NATO's Common Funding to ensure that our political decisions are supported with adequate resources.
In Madrid, Allies also agreed a new Strategic Concept, NATO's guiding document, to reflect this new security reality. Our new Strategic Concept identifies Russia as the most significant and direct threat to Allied security, it addresses the People's Republic of China for the first time, and it sets out how we address other challenges like the ongoing threat of terrorism, as well as cyber, hybrid, new technologies and the implications of climate change on our security.
At the Madrid Summit, all 30 Allies took the historic decision to invite Finland and Sweden to join the Alliance and, in the fastest accession process to date, 28 Allies have already ratified their accession.
Looking ahead to the NATO Summit in Vilnius in July 2023, we will continue to strengthen our deterrence and defence and adapt our Alliance to a world of strategic competition, where authoritarian regimes are challenging the rules-based international order. I expect Allies will agree a new more ambitious defence spending pledge. In a more dangerous world, Allies increasingly see 2% of Gross Domestic Product spent on defence as a floor and not a ceiling.
The bond between Europe and North America remains rock solid. More than 80% of citizens polled by NATO in 2022 believe that cooperation between our two continents on security matters is important.
In these more challenging times, NATO Allies stand united in our support of Ukraine, and in defence of our values, our nations and our one billion people. One for all and all for one.
Jens Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General

393 of the russian full-scale invasion has begun.
The russian federation continues its armed aggression against Ukraine, and does not abandon its intentions to fully occupy Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The adversary continues its offensive operations on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mar’inka, and Shakhtars’ke axes, while defending on others. During the day of March 22, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 83x enemy attacks in the eastern part of the frontline.
The russian aggressor continues to use its usual tactics of terrorizing the civilians, shells settlements and critical infrastructure.
During the day of March 22, the adversary launched 1x missile attack on Zaporizhzhia. Russian missiles hit a residential apartment building. There are killed and wounded civilians. The enemy also launched 48x air strikes, in particular, on critical civilian infrastructure in Zhytomyr and Kyiv oblasts. The occupiers employed 21x Shahed-136 UAVs from Bryansk oblast (russia), 16x of these drones were shot down. As a result of enemy UAV strikes, there are dead and wounded civilians. The invaders also launched 75x MLRS attacks.
The threat of further enemy attacks across Ukraine remains.
Volyn, Polissya, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna axes: no significant changes in the operational situation, no formation of offensive groups of the adversary were found. The russian leadership continues to use the infrastructure of the republic of belarus to train its troops. The adversary maintains its military presence in the border areas. During the day of March 22, the enemy shelled the vicinities of settlements of Khrinivka, Arkhypivka, Mykhal’chyna Sloboda (Chernihiv oblast), Dem’yanivka, Esman, Atyns’ke, Iskryskivshchyna, Bilopillya, Volfyne, Pavlivka, Basivka, Yunakivka, Krasnopillya (Sumy oblast), Basove, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Vesele, Vovchans’k, Okhrimivka, Krasne Pershe, and Kindrashivka (Kharkiv oblast).
Kup’yans’k and Lyman axes: the adversary continues its attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinities of settlements of Makiivka, Bilohorivka, and Verkhn’okam’yans’ke. The invaders fired artillery at the vicinities of settlements of Krokhmal’ne (Kharkiv oblast), Novoselivs’ke, Nevs’ke, Bilohorivka (Luhansk), Terny, Kolodyazi, Sivers’k, Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast).
Bakhmut axis: the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations, suffering major casualties, losing significant amount of weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders have been repelling numerous round-the-clock enemy attacks in the vicinities of Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, and Predtechyne. More than 15x settlements near the line of contact were shelled, including Vasyukivka, Min’kivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shul’tyne, Pivnichne, and Pivdenne (Donetsk oblast).
Avdiivka, Mar’inka, and Shakhtars’ke axes: the adversary conducted offensive operations in the vicinities of settlements Novokalynove, Stepove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Lastochkyne, Sjeverne, Vodyane, Pervomais’ke, Mar’inka, and Pobjeda. To no success. Vicinities of more than 20x settlements came under enemy fire, including Avdiivka, Tonen’ke, Sjeverne, Vodyane, Pervomais’ke, Nevel’s’ke, Netaylove, Mar’inka, Novomykhailivka, and Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast).
Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the adversary is defending. Vicinities of more than 45x settlements near the line of contact came under fire, including Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Havrylivka, Ivanivka, Zelenivka, Dniprovs’ke, and the city of Kherson (Kherson oblast).
In the settlements of Reshetylivs’ke, Chumats’ke, and Kostyantynivka (temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast), russian occupants made rounds of local residents’ houses warning them to stay in safe places and prohibiting from leaving their homes. This may indirectly indicate that the russian occupiers’ attempt to prevent the locals from observing the planned transfer of the enemy’s manpower and military equipment to the line of contact.
The russian federation does not give up its war of aggression, despite the numerous casualties. It is constantly taking actions to replenish its losses in manpower. For example, conscripts in one of the military units stationed in South Ossetia (russian federation) are being actively coerced into signing contracts to proceed to take part in combat in Ukraine. It has been established that between March 1 and March 10, more than 50x russian conscripts have signed their contracts. With no appropriate combat training, they were sent to Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia oblast).
During the day of March 22, Ukrainian Air Force launched 1x air strike at the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile system, as well as 12x air strikes at the concentrations of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers. In the meantime, Ukrainian missile troops and artillery hit 1x command post, 3x concentrations of manpower, 1x ammunition depot, and 1x electronic warfare station of the enemy.

IN RUSSIA, THEY LIKE TO ACCUSE AMERICANS OF KILLING INDIANS
But they are stunned by a simple counter question: "And how many Indians did the Russians kill?"
After that, as a rule, the dialogues are interrupted, because few people have heard, for example, about the Russian-Indian War (1802-1805).
Few people have heard about the punitive operation of Ivan Solovyov, who killed more than 5,000 Aleuts - the native inhabitants of the Aleutian archipelago - on the island of Unalashka.
Few people in Russia have heard about the expedition of Grigory Shelikhov, who, quoting a source, "carried out a mass massacre of the local population, killing from 500 to 2,500 Eskimos."
Few people have heard about the expedition of Ivan Kuskov (1808-1809), who killed many Indians before establishing Fort Ross, and then concluded a truce with them.
Few people have heard about how the industrialist Larion Belyaev "cleansed" the island of Attu from all the Aleuts who lived there ...
200 years before the sale of Alaska, the Russians killed many thousands of indigenous people on the Pacific coast of America. Historians are now trying to reconstruct the picture of the past, but they cannot even give an approximate figure for the number of Indians killed in the 49th US state. The victims were not even counted. And even the killed Russians were counted only "their nobles", noble merchants and industrialists. Ordinary people were not taken into account.
But when you read Russian historical documents, letters, notes, reports, ship's logs, etc., you get the impression that it was the Indians who attacked Russia and abused the people near Moscow.
They talked about their "feats" reluctantly, often kept silent and did not mention them at all. So, for example, the captain of the ship "St. Evdokim" Mykhailo Vasyliovych Nevodchikov, in his logbook, after arriving on Agatti Island, made a note that "due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, an Aleut was wounded by a shot from a rifle." The fact that a fight broke out after this "unfortunate" shot can be learned only in the context of the records. How many people were injured during this incident is not reported at all.
And so almost every expedition. If someone landed on the shores of America or Kamchatka, blood was bound to be shed. And the culprits were of course the local residents, who were described as: "worse than predators", "murderous and evil people", "bloodthirsty barbarians" and so on.
The number of dead Indians is still unknown. Although it is assumed that there could be several thousand of them - no less. In Russia, they do not know anything about this and do not want to know.
