PeteB
I am taking some 100% rye spirit "white rye" to some liquor outlets next week. I am putting together a list of "serving suggestions" to help with marketing. Are there any mixologists out there with some good recipes please? max.watman
Try sours and collinses. There are excellent white manhattan recipes out there, as well, easily found via Google -- Neyah White and Derek Brown both make great ones.
Viking
I would love to here about your results from marketing in this manner. Good plan, good luck.

The flavour scientists at McCormick Spices (no connection to McCormick Distillery) said a couple of years ago that rye whisky pairs well with any foods that have sage in them. As for cocktails, keep in mind that your new-make rye spirit is no doubt peppery or spicy, so dream up your proprietary cocktail recipes accordingly! Jonathan Forester
Pete, can you describe the flavor profile of the spirit? Then I could make some suggestions. If you were here in the states I would say send me a bottle and I and a few of my staff/coordinators for my international cocktail expo could play with it. PeteB
Jonathan, If I posted you a sample bottle from Australia, do you think it would get through your customs, border security etc? I should have thought of it yesterday, there were a couple of Californians here, they could have taken a bottle home and posted it.
Jonathan Forester
Pete- I have no idea what the legality of shipping from Australia is. I will check my contacts of Australian bartenders and cocktail consultants and see what I can do for you there.
