Wayward
Has anyone heard of changes coming to the definition of rum? I heard some rumors but have no idea where to look to confirm. Cheers, Dave
daveflintstone
I don't know about Canada, but in the U.S. rum must now be made entirely in Hawaii. All other makers must label their products "Pirate Flavored Grog". I suspect in Canada it will be "Pirate Flavoured Groug".

3d0g
Which is best? Freeze dried or fresh ground pirate? And is a formula approval required?

I give a lot of credit to Hawaiian rum, they are right up there in quality with Viking themed rum distilleries from Minnesota. I'd be interested in knowing what the rumors are of this rum category. I'm guessing it's a classification for aged or spiced?
