  3. Hi @nukeproof AZ can be a bit unclear about the laws in their state. I spent a few years there managing a distillery and got to know them well. If you want to sell in AZ and not have a physical location you will need to get an AZ out of state craft distillery license and then you can sell your products through a distributor.

  8. I have worked on and repaired multiple Corson systems. Their equipment is poorly designed and in some instances downright dangerous

  14. Kelvin cooperage is a great source for barrels FYI. Id agree with what Just Andy said. The price of barrels can vary at ton depending on size, quantity purchased, types of wood and freight on the barrels. Lots of distilleries go the sourcing route and will contract with a distillery to have them distill the whiskey and barrel it, then ship full barrels to you. Now to say which way is less expensive to get to whiskey many variables that need to be considered that will determine the real cost.
  15. Hi @Shadi Saroufim Welcome to the ADI forums. Clearing all the regulatory hurdles can be a daunting task to get a distillery started. Many of the steps toward getting a distillery started can happen simultaneously to get you up and running. Before license applications can start we would want to get your business itself registered and licensed, at the same time find and secure a location. Once completed we would then start the process of getting your federal and state licenses for distilling. I am a consultant and if you would like to talk about your project in detail please email me. Distillerynow@gmail.com Cheers, ---Kris
  16. You are correct in that the Anton Paar Snaps are not TTB approved, but they will save you a ton of money on labor. The snap 41 works well enough for quick readings for nearly all distillery work except for final proof and gauging for packaging. Im out west of Fort Worth. If yall need some guidance drop me a line and I could come out and set yall up with operating procedures to get your moving with confidence. Distillerynow@gmail.com Cheers, --Kris
  17. Hi @Brungardtwelcome to the forums. As you are probably finding there are a multitude of regulations in the industry and the answers are not definitive or clear. Hydrometers are essential for gauging and an anton paar handheld density meter will make day to day work easier. I work in Texas myself, where are you located at? Cheers, --KB
  18. Im curious to hear what ya think of onbatch once you have a few months of using it
  19. Hi @Galveston Distilling Co. Welcome to the forums. Im in Texas as well building a distillery in Granbury. If ya need any help or advice just ask. Cheers, ---Kris Distillerynow@gmail.com

  21. @Chris Lewiswill you be mashing as well or just need a chiller for distilling?
  22. To pull your products into a state beyond your home state most distributors are going to expect some sales support. In some cases this can be a part time sales rep who calls and visits state accounts regularly. Some states and distributers will only sign you on if you provide a full time rep. If you are going to an out of state distributor and not offering any sales support in their market, it would not suprise me that the distributer was not interested in carrying your product
  23. Rite boilers are fantastic. ive run a bunch of them and they have all been great
  24. Ill second that the folks at TCW equipment provide top notch stuff. They have provided equipment for several bottling lines for me and they always worked great. @NoGoodOutlaw if you need some help selecting the exact parts and pieces drop me a line Distillerynow@gmail.com
