Hey Bill can you add a tab for spirits, so we can talk whiskey with the whiskey guys, and the gin guys can chat about that and so on.

I would say good business is to take care of local liquor stores. Don't undercut them, just sell t-shirts to make the sale in the factory worth more then your local liquor store.

What if a factory goes dark. How do you buy the old stock?

If I buy a barrel from anyone for blending do we have to bottle it before we can get it to the factory? I also think the vendor has to pay tax on it, and i would pay tax on it once it left. also to bottle a barrel that was going to be used for blending seems odd. any incite?

OK i understand that 40% of our final price is tax, but thats not a ruff number. I'm just looking for what you pay on a 55 gallon barrel (each week, each month) this number will help me with the project i'm working on.

I have just got done with my Mash, and I have LOTS of spent grain (how much time do I have to get it out, before smell?) (from the TTB, State, and EPA or FDA side) do I have to do any paper work to give it away? Do you drum it or how do you give it to your farmers? is their any grain I should not give away as feed, and what do you do with it?

When you first opened who did you have on payroll. Outside of your distilling staff did you have an accountant, pr, or graphic designer?

I have seen people use the date from when a distillery use to run, and other little games like this. Why? Tell the truth the first time, and you will never have to deal with it again. Your first day is the date you started your LLC or whatever.
