  1. So I just set up and I'm trying to test my new Mori 6 spout filler.  Got a 43 foot three quarter inch hose hooked up to a bulk tank then to the included pump, flojet 4300-043.  Hose is floor level, filler is a couple feet above.

The pump is running but nothing is being pumped through the hose. wth

Anyone have any idea what may be wrong? I'm trying to get this situated this weekend.

  2. I would rather have just a forklift than just a dock.  That's how I did it for 5 years.  Is it fun to unload 21 pallets of empty bottles off a trailer without a dock?  No, but doable with a pallet jack and forklift in about an hour, by myself.  Actually, for the first two years I borrowed my industrial neighbor's forklift when I needed it.

  3. Anyone who has serious interest in this is delusional.  For my reason stated above.  And as was said above, how many will spend $500 plus feed stock to get a gallon of liquor a week?

fyi making a tiny continuous still is not new and revolutionary.  They exist, I've seen one, so what.  A tiny continuous still interests a tiny number of people.  There is nothing to get.

  4. The pump went out so I sent the whole thing back and had them replace it and bring it back to new spec.  Perhaps recalibration was not the right word?  Haven't used it since.

I've used it with the enolmatic filter with no issue.  That is, no issue with the xpressfill.  The enolmatic filter on the other hand is a design nightmare.  Plastic, plastic, plastic, and as such easily breakable.  I had several plastic enolmatic filter caps break.  That filter is NOT professional quality IMHO.  So I made one of the best equipment purchase decisions of my career, a stainless 10" housing that uses double open ended 0.5 micron filters.  I use hoses with camlock fittings to connect, the 1/2" hose from my bulk filling tank is about 25' long, works great.  Easy peasy and will last a lifetime.

  5. If you're going to use the still dragon double retort Jamaican style system, you will have to barrel age for several years to mellow the spirit. You will not be able to make traditional cuts, everything will be jumbled together.
