  1. I have said it before and I'll say it again, the vast majority of people don't even know what "distilled" means.

"oh this is a distillery? What kind of beer do you make?"

""a distillery" So you make wine."

If you don't believe me go and ask random people yourself. Almost daily I am presented with people who volunteer their ignorance of "distillery". I don't blame them, and I don't care that they don't know. That's why I put "produced by" on my labels, because everyone "knows" that produced by means made by. simple things are the best things.

  2. Look for "distilled by" on the label #RealCraftDistiller™, TM by all real craft distillers, distinct from ANY claim to the TM of craft distillers for anything. SO THERE!

Tweeting #RealCraftDistiller to tell the world...

I don't even know what this post means.

  3. http://www.wyomingbusinessreport.com/vodka-distillery-state-grant-recommendation-of-2-9m-rescinded/

Grand Teton got a 2.9 million dollar grant?? To build a distillery?? Holy crap on a stick and I'll eat a bug, that's ridiculous. I guess someone else thought the same as the grant has been rescinded.

I'm all for easing government restrictions and incentivizing (goodness knows I wish my local government would ease up), but no way should any small business be handed 2.9 million tax dollars to enrich themselves.

Nothing personal Grand Teton, but Jesus H. Christmas cookies, no one business should be put on a plateau above others. Especially one 2.9 million dollars high.

  4. >> And trust me we pulled out all the stops and had lawyers draw up special paper work just for them.

Really? Iike a patent filing? What's the application or patent number and when was it filed?

Seriously? It seems your reading comprehension is being clouded by your dislike of Dehner. A non-disclosure agreement is nothing like a patent filing.

Dehner is not trying to sell you his process, so maybe ease up on the rhetoric.

  5. I used to know this but now maybe I don't.

Is there a COLA exemption for products sold only intrastate? There is for beer and wine. It would be nice not to have to get label approval for every little product made and sold in the distillery tasting room.

  6. McKee - I will reiterate that I find the pursuit of safety noble, but your approach is aggressive and uncalled for.

I concur. Along with 800 years of international experience. The many do not need to suffer for the glaring mistakes of the few. Hang up your badge and gun for a while and give it a rest.

  7. I don't know about Canada, but in the U.S. rum must now be made entirely in Hawaii. All other makers must label their products "Pirate Flavored Grog". I suspect in Canada it will be "Pirate Flavoured Groug".

  8. If the advice is only to "seek out professional opinion", why not just put that on every forum topic post and close the thread?

I appreciate the valuable assistance offered in many posts, that I believe is what this forum is for.

  9. Scrouge and daveflintsone, you guys are bullies. And Scrouge, you might want to use grammar check before you try to insult posters. These forums are invaluable. Why try and intimidate people so they won't post? Jealousy, I assume.

I think it's jax. They're in cahoots. YOU WON'T GET MY MONEY!*

    *because I don't have any
