  1. Wow that is a long haul. I'd love to hear more on this as I live in a border town OR/WA. We plan on making our own washes but I've always wondered about cross that bridge.

  5. Hey John- I was bottling wine last week at a winery here in WA state when someone from the FDA did a surprise visit. The owner of the winery had never had a visit by the FDA and this visit was unscheduled. I'm not sure about your agent but this one had done her homework and had a couple of pages of notes on the owner, the products, and the history of the facility. I asked the agent if she visited wineries and distilleries frequently and her response was that this is new and that Distilleries and Wineries are the lowest priority. This agent didn't know squat about the wine making process, a little bit about the bottling process, and in the end used her flash light to check for mouse poop. She told me that she had yet to visit a distillery but was going to start visiting them soon. Appreciate your continued coverage of this as we all could learn a thing or two and prepared. But like you said it's hard t play a game and not know the rules. Good Luck Roy

  7. We talked about that with our consultant and he said that he can not believe that folks have received approval on labels where gin was listed as aged. We haven't dealt with this issue, yes. Keep us posted.

  9. Several folks do it. Clear Creek in Portland has done this with their McCarthy's Irish Whiskey since the beginning. They farm that out to Widmer Bros and even include Widmer's logo on their whiskey. It never hurts to ask. Roy

  15. Why are you looking to wash your bottles? I've bottled thousands of cases of wine and hundreds in spirits and have never washed a single bottle. now you have me curious

  22. Is NY a control state? If so, go straight to them. Sometimes you have to pay for it, but there is information there if you ask the right folks.
  23. What I got was ---- Unfortunately due to a high interest in our products our order book is full for the foreseeable future and we are not taking any more orders on for 2013. Therefore if you were looking for delivery in the next 14 months we would not be able to address you request.
