Every second substation is attacked: Prime Minister Shmygal revealed serious energy losses due to Russian strikes

Due to the constant attacks of the Russians, almost two dozen power units of thermal power plants remain damaged.

As a result of Russian missile and drone attacks and the occupation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Ukraine has lost 44% of its nuclear generation and three-quarters of its thermal power plants, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said during a government meeting.

According to him, Russian terrorists again launched a massive missile attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine today, February 10.

"In general, due to constant attacks, almost two dozen power units of thermal power plants remain damaged. If we add to this the fact of the occupation of part of our energy facilities, then Ukraine has temporarily lost 44% of nuclear generation, 75% of thermal power plants and 33% of block thermal power plants," he said.

The prime minister said that every second Ukrenergo substation had been attacked over the past four months.

"Despite this terror, the vast majority of Ukrainians remain with heat, water and light. Repairs are underway, there are enough resources to end the winter, generators are coming in, energy equipment from partners is on the way," the head of government stressed.

Record number of sorties per day: the Russian Federation again lifted fighters into the air

The air raid throughout Ukraine lasted almost three hours.

After 16:00 on Friday, February 10, a large-scale air alert was announced in Ukraine for the third time. Like last time, it is connected with the fact that Russian aircraft took off in Belarus.

The monitoring group "Belarusian Gayun" informed that at 16:07 an A-50U airborne early warning and control aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces took off from the Machulishchi airfield.

Following him, at 16:11, a MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces took off from the Machulishchi airfield. After 7 minutes, the takeoff of the second MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces was recorded.

At 16:25, another aircraft of an unknown model took off from the same airfield. "BG" suggests that this is the 3rd MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces or a fighter.

As is known, aircraft of this type are capable of carrying Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

Updated (17:06): The monitoring group notes that today the highest aviation activity is observed throughout the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

“Three sorties of the A50 AWACS and at least five MiG-31K sorties were made during the day from the Machulishchi airfield alone. This is a record number of sorties of these types of aircraft in one day,” writes Belarus Gayun.

They also note that the Ministry of Defense of Belarus continues to remain silent and does not comment on these sorties in any way.

Updated (18:28): There were no reports of missile launches, all over Ukraine - air raid alert.

Russia's massive attack on February 9 and 10 - what is known

On the night of February 10, Russia launched Iranian drones in Ukraine from the occupied regions of the Zaporozhye region. A strike was recorded on the Khmelnytsky region.

From 4:00 am, the invaders began to terrorize Ukraine with missiles.

According to the information of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, from 21:50 on February 9 to 12:00 on February 10, the enemy launched 71 cruise missiles (X-101 / X-555 - 43, Caliber - 28), as well as up to 35 missiles of the C complex -300.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed 61 enemy cruise missiles out of 71 and 5 kamikaze drones out of 7, which were used by the Russian invaders.

Russians modified Iranian drones

After examining the wreckage of an unexploded "Shahed" that Russia aimed at Odessa in October 2022, the British Conflict Armament Research, together with the Ukrainian military, noticed that its warhead was modified.

According to them, the warheads "were hastily modified with ill-fitting layers of dozens of small metal fragments that scatter over a large radius on impact."

In addition to the fragments, 18 more smaller "charges" are located around the circumference of the warhead, which, when melted by an explosive wave, are capable of penetrating armor and creating a kind of explosive effect "by 360 degrees".

The accumulation of these elements significantly increases the warhead's ability to destroy targets such as power plants, distribution networks, power lines and large powerful transformers. They also make repairs much more difficult.

Currently, the Russian occupiers in Ukraine are using tanks, mostly removed from conservation, since the armored vehicles available at the time of the invasion have long been destroyed. This was stated by military expert Alexander Kovalenko.

He noted that as of February 23 last year, the Russian army had about 3,300 combat-ready tanks in service. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the enemy has lost 3,258 tanks so far.

Because of such catastrophic losses, Russia is forced to use all the possibilities to reopen old tanks that have been in storage bases for years and decades. Replenishment of troops with tanks comes mainly from this source.

According to Kovalenko, Russia currently has about 500 tanks at the front. Taking into account the losses and the fact that the first vehicles removed from conservation were seen at the front at the end of March, one can roughly calculate the possibilities of the Russian Federation to compensate for tank losses.

The expert believes that only part of the reactivated equipment is sent to the front. A part remains in Russia "to replenish internal needs."

"That is, the average recovery rate can now exceed 100 tanks per month, which fully compensates for losses in the combat zone," Kovalenko said.

According to the expert, there are currently about 2,000 tanks in storage in Russia, which are suitable for further use. However, many of these machines will require a long and difficult restoration before they can actually get to the front. Therefore, Kovalenko does not believe that the Russian Federation will be able to make the reopening a turning point in the war.

"But here's what's interesting. Now the Russian occupiers are suffering weighted average losses in Ukraine, which are back to back compensated by the current level of reactivation. But as soon as the intensity of hostilities increases, and ... the potential for compensating for losses exhausts itself," sums up Kovalenko.

SpaceX took steps to prevent the Ukrainian military from using the company's Starlink satellite Internet service to fly drones in the region during the country's war with Russia, SpaceX's president said Wednesday.
SpaceX's Starlink satellite Internet service, which provided the Ukrainian military with broadband to defend against the Russian military, "was never intended to be used as a weapon," Gwynn Shotwell, SpaceX's president and chief operating officer, said during a conference in Washington, DC.
"However, the Ukrainians used it unintentionally and were not part of any agreement," she said.
Speaking to reporters later, Shotwell referred to reports that the Ukrainian military was using the Starlink service to control drones.
Ukraine effectively uses unmanned aircraft to detect enemy positions, direct fire at long distances and drop bombs.
"There are things we can do to limit their ability to do that," she said, referring to Starlink's use of drones. "There are things we can do, and we did."
Starlink's use of drones is outside the scope of the agreement between SpaceX and the Ukrainian government, Shotwell said, adding that the contract is for humanitarian purposes, such as providing broadband Internet to hospitals, banks and families affected by the Russian invasion.
"We know the military uses them for communication, and that's fine," she said. "But it was never our intention for them to use it for offensive purposes."
SpaceX has privately shipped truckloads of Starlink terminals to Ukraine, allowing the country's military to communicate, connect and link them to the nearly 4,000 satellites SpaceX has so far launched into Earth orbit.
Governments including the United States and France have paid for other shipments of Starlink terminals in addition to those privately funded by SpaceX.
Russia tried to jam Starlink signals in the region, although SpaceX countered by hardening the service's software, said Elon Musk, the company's chief executive.
Asked if SpaceX envisioned using Starlink for offensive purposes in Ukraine when deciding to send the terminals to conflict zones, Shotwell said: “We didn't think about that. I didn't think about it. Our starlink team may not have thought, I don't know. But we learned pretty quickly."
At the end of last year, Starlink had service failures in Ukraine for reasons that SpaceX did not explain.
Asked if the failures were related to SpaceX's efforts to curb its aggressive use of Starlink, Shotwell said, "I don't want to answer that question because I'm not sure I know the answer."

In particular, information is being spread that Ukrainian citizens who do not comply with the occupiers’ demands by May 2023 will be deported to russia.
In Mariupol, temporarily occupied by the enemy, russian invaders are taking measures to “mobilize” certain members of society. From now on, homeless people, as well as alcohol or drug addicts are being taken to the enemy’s army.
During the day of February 16, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 13x air strikes on concentrations of russian troops, as well as 1x air strike on the position of the anti-aircraft missile system.

Ukraine celebrates the National Coat of Arms Day

Under the sign of the Trident, the Ukrainian People's Republic was defended, it was on awards and postcards of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, on the lapels of the jackets of the participants of thousands of rallies against the communist totalitarian regime in the late 1980s — February 19 is National Emblem Day in Ukraine.
On February 19, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the trident as the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, defining it as the main element of the large State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. He became the golden Trident on a blue shield - the national symbol of Ukrainians during the liberation struggles of the 20th century.
It is worth remembering:
The trident has a thousand-year history. In ancient times, it was a sign of the princely family of the Rurikovichs - the rulers of Russia.
During the times of the Ukrainian People's Republic, the trident was approved as the state coat of arms of Ukraine, which emphasizes continuity with previous periods of Ukrainian history.
In the 20th century, the Trident became a symbol of the struggle of Ukrainians for independence. The Soviet totalitarian system branded it as a "nationalist sign". The use of the Trident was prohibited in the USSR, the "culprits" were severely punished.
By regaining independence in 1991 and choosing the Trident as its state emblem, Ukraine demonstrated its adherence to the traditions of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
Russian aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine began with the destruction of the Trident as a marker of Ukrainian identity.
The trident unites Ukrainian patriots who today defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
For Ukrainians all over the world, the Trident symbolizes the connection with the Motherland.
WHY TRIDEN?
It is an ancient Ukrainian symbol. His oldest image, found by archaeologists, dates back to the 10th century. It is assumed that it was a magical birthmark, a talisman. Up to 40 of its interpretations are known: a trident, a trikyria candlestick, a falcon, an anchor, an ear of rye, a bow with an arrow, a triune sacrifice in the name of the victory of life over death... There is also a hypothesis that this is a sign of the trinity of the world and a combination of the symbols of once widespread cults of the sun and the anchor.
In ancient Russia, the Trident was the family sign of the Rurik family. His numerous images were found on contemporary coins (silver and gold coins), seals, dishes, tombstones, bricks, deed seals, signet rings, hryvnia ingots, weapons, equipment, merchandise seals. This symbol of ownership and power was passed down from generation to generation, changing so that each representative of the family had an individual emblem (for example, the predecessors of Prince Volodymyr Svyatoslavich of Kyiv had bidents). The pommel in the form of a princely sign was the main element of the Old Russian flags. There are especially many artifacts from the reign of Volodymyr Svyatoslavovych (on the throne of Kyiv from about 980). That is why the Trident is considered the sign of Prince Volodymyr the Great.
For many centuries, the image of the Trident was widespread in the lands of Russia. After the decline of the Rurik family, it was gradually supplanted. Territorial signs have been in use since the 14th century, for example, in Kyiv - with the archstrategist Michael, in Volodymyr-Volynskyi - with St. George, in Lutsk - with St. Nicholas, in Lviv - with a lion.

US President Joe Biden arrived on a visit to Ukraine.

"Biden is in Kyiv. A city that was supposed to be under Russian control for 360 days. What a strong sign for dictator Putin," Bild journalist Julian Repke tweeted.

Later, Julian Repke clarified that he had no confirmation of Biden's visit to Kyiv.

"This is just my personal opinion," he wrote.

This was also reported by the Russian human rights activist and lawyer Mark Feigin.

"Biden in Kyiv," he wrote.

Also later, the first footage of US President Joe Biden appeared in Kyiv on Mikhailovskaya Square. An air raid alert was heard in the background.

US President Joe Biden in Kyiv honored the memory of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine along with President Zelensky on Mikhailovskaya Square.

On February 19, russian occupation forces shelled the town of Hola Prystan’ (Kherson oblast) with artillery, with the aim to accuse and discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, in order to instil a negative attitude towards the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the occupiers continue to shell civilian targets in certain settlements of Kakhovka and Hola Prystan’ districts (Kherson oblast).
The adversary continues to force russian passports on Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast. In particular, the so-called authorities put in office by russian occupation forces in Skadovs’k and Kalanchak are forcing to speed up the process of obtaining russian passports and re-registering businesses’ movable and immovable property under russian law. This is done under threats of confiscation of personal property. Pensioners having no russian passport are threatened with being deprived of their pension payments. This caused social tensions among local residents, who fear losing their property and businesses.
During the day of February 20, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 16x air strikes on the concentrations of occupants’ personnel and military equipment and 1x air strike on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile system at its firing position.

Situation update as of 6.00 a.m., 23rd February, 2023
Day 365 of the full-scale russian military aggression has begun.
The russian federation focuses its main efforts on offensives on Kup’yans’k, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk axes.
Last day, Ukrainian forces repelled about 90x enemy attacks on the mentioned axes.
The enemy launched 10x missile and 19x air strikes, and conducted 37x MLRS attacks. Once again, the attacks caused casualties among civilian population and damage to peaceful towns and villages.
The threat of russian missile strikes remains high across Ukraine.
Volyn’, Polissya, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the operational situation has not changed. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were identified. The enemy employed mortars and artillery against the vicinities of Mikhalchyna Sloboda (Chernihiv oblast); Sopych, Korenyok, Hirky, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Ryzhivka, and Basivka (Sumy oblast); as well as against the vicinities of 18x settlements in Kharkiv oblast, including Timofiivka, Strilecha, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Budarky, Ambarne and Bologhivka.
Kup’yans’k and Lyman axes: the enemy attempted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinities of Stelmakhivka, Kreminna, Bilohorivka, and Fedorivka. The vicinities of Kamianka, Dvorichna, Hryanykivka, Kotlyarivka, and Berestovka settlements (Kharkiv oblast); Nevs’ke, Chervonopivka, Kreminna, Kuzmyne, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast); Ivanivka and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast) suffered artillery shelling.
Bakhmut axis: the enemy makes further attempts to attack Ukrainian positions in the vicinities of Orihovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahidne, Maloiliinivka, and Bakhmut (Donetsk oblast). Russian forces conduct aerial reconnaissance to adjust artillery fire. More than 20x settlements, including Spirne, Vesele, Bilohorivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahdne, Bakhmut, and Ozaryanivka (Donetsk oblast) came under enemy fire.
Avdiivka and Shakhtars’k axes: the enemy launched an offensive in the vicinities of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Nevels’ke, Mar’yinka, Pobieda, Vuhledar, and Prechistivka. In total, during the past day, the occupiers carried out 43x unsuccessful attacks. Russian artillery shelled the vicinities of 22x settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Pervomais’ke, Vodyane, Nevels’ke, Krasnohorivka, Heorgiivka, Mar’yinka, Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechistivka, and Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk oblast).
Zaporizhzhia axis: the vicinities of Vremivka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, and Novopil’ (Donetsk oblast); Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, and Kam’yanske (Zaporizhzhia oblast); Vyshchetarasivka, and Marganets (Dnipropetrovsk oblast) were subjects to enemy attacks.
Kherson axis: the city of Kherson and the vicinities of Tyaginka, Novotyaginka, Antonivka, Zelenivka, and Chornobayivka suffered enemy artillery fire.
The russian occupiers continue the so-called “passportization” of Ukrainian citizens on the temporary occupied territories. Thus, since February 19, the residents of Nova Kakhovka have been receiving propaganda messages about the activities of russian migration service in the city.
Due to the failure of offensive and significant casualties caused by the occupiers near Vuhledar, the personnel of the volunteer so-called Cossack detachment assigned to russian 155th marine infantry brigade (Pacific fleet), refuses to participate in further offensive actions.
Last day, Ukrainian Air Force conducted 11x air strikes on the concentrations of russian troops, and 1x air strike against enemy anti-aircraft missile complex in a firing position.
Ukrainian missile and artillery troops attacked 1x command post, 2x concentrations of enemy troops, and 1x ammunition depot.

On February 24, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities,

conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages.

I am in the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv.
I do not leave the city, I follow what is happening here, reassure my family and friends, explain the situation and follow the press reports.

A lot of panic messages, a lot of fake news from Russian propaganda.
I select only the information that has confirmation.
As a former military man (in the distant past), I have a good understanding of how hostilities are conducted and what weapons are used.

I will answer all your questions.

Since February 24, Russia has attacked Ukraine, many cities of Ukraine have been destroyed.

Because of the war, I lost my business in Ukraine, if you want to help me and my family, my Paypal is: Alex.Sor.2022@gmail.com
