  1. Best was the old yeller banana apples that used to grow in the mountain here. After that the super ripe Golden and yellow delicious kinds. You need them super ripe for best moonshine brandy. I am talking about a spirit that my daddy made illegally and I have made as well that is an artisan brew like you will not find elsewhere. At the end of the day the kind of likker that I would make and all I know gladly give 50 bux a quart for when they will not pay 15 for the rest, You know to get a likker like that really does not involve much more than patience and knowledge and little more of than than the rest use.
  2. Salvage, will you please email me what you have. gladhatter@gladhatter.net
  3. Cheaper than fines and jail time for sure. Count your self lucky...
  4. Would love to learn more about your cooling systems, MG. We may choose to add them to our stills some time.
  5. Thank you for the correction, Bob.
  6. Hey Kristian, I understand now. Our most expensive hats we produce are Montechristi straw hats that can run up to 30,000 for a single hat. We have a friend that gets 100,000 for the same hat. "Fat Charley" makes a fine stretcher and sells it on eBay. If you do not find it let me know and I will help you more. Did not mean to dis your hat. Charlie
  7. I am pretty sure we have several differing antique hat stretchers we are letting go of, depending on your wishes. You can get one off eBay as well new for a few dollars. Sounds like however you need a hat mostly if yours is shrinking in the elements then it is not doing its job very well since you have to protect it instead of it protecting you.
  8. We have only specialized in showcase pot stills to date. No web site. Did not really come here to sell stills but only to relax and learn a bit from all these knowledgeable folks. Should not have spouted off. We have a long back log and are not seeking new business to speak of with rare exceptions.
  9. I am sorry that I do not know any one to name. I just wish to be clear. I find it a bit of a challenge to absorb main stream pricing and existent economies. I do not live in the same universe as some folks, I reckon. We build stills for a fair amount less that is being quoted here and can build them to demanding specifications.
  10. Not sure where the "Big Names" come up with such big pricing but you can get a 150 gallon still with EVERYTHING for half or less the price they are charging and built of quality and functionality and made exactly to your needs and specifications and even cosmetic looks.
  11. Thank you Shawn. gladhatter@gladhatter.net Gladhatter 182 Sterling Beaver Circle Clintwood VA 24228
  12. First off congrats and Cheers and much good luck. I would venture to say that may be same as millons of others did over time making moonshine with out knowing much about it.
  13. Shawn, do you have a photo of the bottle? Thanks. Charlie
  14. Juan, you certainly are a man after my heart as well doing the research and finding out the old ways. Cheers. Charlie
  15. Howdy! Glad you ask. Please give me a call if you wish to talk about things. 276-926-6423
  16. Greetings. My advice is better equipment makes for better drink.
