  1. Hey all I run a distillery and we have a partner RTD company (ownership involved in both companies) that is reformulating one of their RTDs and its label. The new label will include a section saying “made with distillery’s rum”. The rum that’s going to be used is going to be sourced in bulk to the distillery before it’s transferred to the co-packer for packaging. Do we need to do anything to the bulk spirit so that it can be called “distillery’s rum”? How about shipping directly to co-packer from supplier could we still call it "Distillery's rum"? Cheers!
  2. Hi All, We distill various gins and overtime, we've noticed very thin flakes of "glass" floating around inside some (not all) our bottles. Happens with every flavour and seemingly random bottles (so not every bottle from the same batch will have them for example). Has anyone experienced a similar issue? After some research, we found that it is possible due to a reaction called "delamination". Not 100% sure but this is the closest thing we could find. Does anyone know 1) the real cause 2) how to prevent this from happening and 3) a reliable glass manufacturer in Asia that has experience and knowledge in this area who can help mitigate this issue?
  3. Any West Coast carton suppliers y'all have worked with? Our glass arrives in blank 6-packs and I'm looking to upgrade to custom printed. Located in NM. Thank you!
  4. We are looking to move some of our extra glass as we have too much right now we are open to any reasonable offers. This glass is bulk packed 750 ml is 960 bottles per pallet and 1 liter bottles are 720 per pallet we have at least a full truckload available willing to help with delivery and shipping If you are familiar with Saver glass it is very high end glass and these are heavy bottles (nearly 800 grams) where other similar molds are 600-700 grams these bottles are also super flint specs attached we are asking $1.45 per bottle OBO https://www.saverglass.com/en/our-products/catalog-spirits/oslo-2536-oz-plate#anchor-caracteristique-techniques I believe this bottle is similar to nocturne and nordic FT-OSLO-70-75 cl_FR_EN (1).pdf
  5. Anyone have a favorite company for custom closures?

  8. Hey everyone I had something weird happen recently with some bottles of vodka we produce. A few friends have put some bottles of our vodka in their freezers and had some ice balls form in the bottle. I’m quite certain I’m hitting 40% abv in the bottle and not dipping below it. Hitting 40-40.4% abv with density meter. 40% with hydrometer and temp correction. Volumes/weight of bulk tanks and number of bottles packaged are extremely close to bottling run calculations through out software. Any thoughts or ideas? Could it be separating in the bottle?
  9. I know federally 700ml bottles are allowed but I have heard that there are some states that may not allow 700ml bottles for retail. Does anyone have a list or a resource that shows which states allow and which do not allow 700ml bottles? Or do they all allow it? Thank you!
  10. Hi everyone, We have 5 bottle types that we no longer use that we are looking to get rid of. With all of the glass concerns, we wanted to see if anyone could use any of these types of bottles. We are willing to add a 10% discount from the supplier's prices in order to help these move. FOB Baton Rouge. If you are interested email me at matt@threeroll.com. 12. We are selling a slightly used gear head filler, we purchased this about a year ago and have only ran it once, we have decided to sell because we have since purchased larger filling equipment. The SGF Series gear filler is a single-head, microcomputer-controlled semi-automatic machine that lets you accurately fill liquids in dry environments. The microcomputer chips let you precisely control filling times and flows for expert accuracy and reliability. Each SGF Series gear filler operates with a foot pedal that begins the fill cycle or in automatic fill mode. The SGF-1 has the capacity to fill 5 milliliter to 10-liter per minute and can fill a quantity of 35 , 1-Oz bottles of water in 60 seconds. The SGF series is very easy to clean. This retails for $3,461.00 but we are looking to sell for $2750 OBO. Again this machine has only been used once and is ready to help fulfill your packaging needs.

  14. Never used for production wrap around automatic label machine from Pack leader. Initially bought to slide in line on our in-line system for ease of bottle switch outs. We are changing our line and do not need this label machine. (used for a test run only). Depending on the length of the label and bottle size, up to 100 containers per minutes but will label automatically as a bottle passes the sensor so perfect for hand bottlers as well as high speed lines. The Packleader ELF-50 is incredibly easy top use, adjustments of in-feed, wrap belt and line belt are automatically synced. Label Specifications: Base Paper Translucent Reel Inner Diameter: 76 mm Reel Outer Diameter: 250 mm Gap of Label 3 mm min. Width of Base Paper Label Width + 4 mm Width of Label 120 mm Head – 10 ~ 120 mm Length of Label 15 ~ 300 mm (Standard) Label roll direction: #4 Left side of copy dispenses first. We initially set it up to run 50ml PET bottles and both the 750ml and 1L OSLO (Kaleido, Nordic) style bottles. These are incredibly robust and low maintenance label machines. Packleader also has exceptional and quick responses when help is needed. I also had a small powder coated cart made to hold the machine and a shelf for label storage for quick changes I would be happy to throw in with the machine (on wheels). Initially paid $10,500 plus $350 for the cart. I am open to offers but am Asking $7,500 for the machine. Best and please message for further details. 15. Anyone who is using Neck tags or booklets attached to your bottle necks by elastic cord or string--did you have to get a COLA approval before release to retail? I have seen old posts where some were putting them on with cocktail recipes and the like, but I was thinking about more of a consumer education tag to explain , for example, why American Single Malt can't be called Scotch, or why a bottle is labeled Agave Spirits rather than tequila, etc. Thought it would be a great way to educate newer consumers as to what certain craft spirits are, how they are made, and identify how they are different. ( All true information, not puffing)But does it require a COLA?

  17. Has anyone had any experience with off shore bottle suppliers? I am currently debating going to a custom bottle with an off shore manufacturer but I am unsure of the suppliers and was wondering if anyone had any experiences and/or advice to share good or bad. Specifically, I am looking at a chinese company for production of my bottles that would cut my costs but almost half delivered... Thanks! Mike

  24. I've been asked this several times and I keep shutting it down because I don't want to deal with removing the labels and I feel like there will be a lot of paperwork involved but... Is anybody reusing their packaging, i.e. glass bottles? This would only be for a few accounts that are concerned with it but I feel like the savings in packaging would be out-weighed by the cost in labor hours. Anyway, if anybody has information about this or can link me to a thread (searched but didn't find anything) I'd be grateful.
