Happy Tuesday Everyone I am looking into importing bulk spirits from Amsterdam to the US as part of a few new products we're developing, and I'm hoping for some suggestions from the hive mind. From what I understand, We need to apply for an importing permit as part of our DSP license Find a customs broker Correctly report our imports on our state and federal reports Correct me if I'm wrong, but I should be able to apply for the importing permit on Permits Online. I have a few referrals for customs brokers, but suggestions are always welcome! When it comes time to report imports to the feds, do we have to file additional reports on top of our normal production, storage, processing, and excise tax reports? Cheers!

Hello there. We ended up getting bottles in cases, so we have 4000 boxes and 4000 insert dividers we don't need. Boxes are on pallets of 500. Inserts are on two pallets. Will let them go for $1.50 a set ( box and insert ), take them all. On pallets, ready to go. 13.5 / 13.75 / 9.85 ( see picks ) . They fit the standard Aspira bottle or equitant. Shipping from Concord NC. Have forklift. Ollie

Are there any specific requirements or limitations on the shipping method when doing a transfer in bond? I understand the permits and reporting associated with a transfer in bond and have received spirits, but have never shipped full barrels. Can this be done LTL? Full tuck load? What about a rental truck or personal vehicle? Is there a section that discusses the requirements or limitations?

Hi, I am starting a Rum distillery in Israel, and am looking for an International molasses supplier. We do have Blackstrap in bulk here, but I am only looking for Grade A or High Test product. Can anyone recommend a good supplier? Thanks, Adam

Hey folks, I am looking for some help and guidance regarding international shipping. We have received an order from oversees (1st ever) and need some help: 1) Are there any additional permits that we need to ship? My hope is to transfer custody locally, so all transit is on them. 2) If the shipping has to be on us, what do I need to protect the shipment, ie. licenses, permits, insurance...? 3) Shipping recommendations. Options are to ship on pallets or stuff the container without pallets. What is the best way in terms of protecting the cargo? Do we need anything else such as padding, dividers...etc? 4) How are taxes handled on the TTB and local level (in TX, so TABC is the governing body) 5) What else am I missing? Thanks for any help.

Near as I can tell, DTC to Washington DC is allowed if volume is less than 1 case per month per consumer, subject to delivery via common carrier such as FedEx, and things like age verification. In other words, no license or permits are required. Anyone shipping DTC to consumers in the district that can confirm this for me? Thanks, AD

Hey everyone - not sure where I should put this, but this seemed to be the only place that might fit. We're looking for a shipping provider, but are having a heck of a time finding someone who won't put us out of business before we really get started. We have to ship our still, tanks, bottles and fermentable (and bottles and fermentables at regular intervals in the future). Does anyone have any experience with good providers who don't break the bank? We don't need things super fast, just in one piece. Any advice on picking a provider? Recommendations? Thanks for the input.

I am trying to find out the difference in usage, at our level, for GTIN and SSCC codes. Which would be more likely to be found in a case of spirits? I don't believe one is required though. My understanding is that SSCC codes are commonly used for pallet shipments. Any suggestions?

Hey All, We are estimating the shipping costs for our COGS. We have heard prices of anywhere between $5 a case to $15 a case and up (assuming 6 bottle cases). We are a destination-based tasting room distillery and will likely be focusing most of our sales within the county and state for the first several years. We are targeting a small to medium scale distributor in a non-control state. Does anyone have any estimates that they would care to share with us? Thanks.

Hey guys, We've been approached by a few people looking to import some of our products. I think that I understand the process from a legal standpoint regarding labeling and such, but I'm a bit confused on the physical act of getting it there.. Does anybody have experience in physically exporting a product to any country? Does the product for export need to be shipped from a bonded warehouse or can you ship it from your front door? Thanks, any advice/comments are welcome! NAB
