Breakout attempts repulsed. The most combat-ready forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are pulled to the east, - Arestovich

Attempts by Russian troops on the night of April 19 to advance in eastern Ukraine were unsuccessful. They are opposed by the most combat-ready units of the Ukrainian army.

It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the appeal of the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Arestovich.

According to him, the enemy focused his efforts on probing the defense, and then focusing on weak spots.

"That's what they tried to do last night, but they failed. Not a single attempt to advance failed, despite attempts to inflict numerous air and artillery strikes on our defenders. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are working skillfully. It must be understood that the most combat-ready grouping is concentrated as times in the direction of the Russian offensive," Arestovich said.

He added that the enemy's plan to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and present this as the main goal of the war would fail.

Pentagon: Russia will aim at arms transportation routes, but it will not succeed

The United States believes that Russia intends to attack the routes on which weapons are transported for the Armed Forces Ukraine.

This was stated by a Pentagon spokesman, CNN quotes.

According to him, so far the Russians have not often struck at targets such as convoys or rail transport, but may try to destroy bridges, roads, flights that bring weapons and ammunition to the country.

But, the official notes, the Russians have not achieved anything with these attacks due to the amount of aid.

A new phase of the war: Pentagon forecasts

The United States and NATO have assessed that the Ukrainian forces have used the weapons already sent against the Russian Armed Forces very effectively, the Pentagon stressed.

Part of this success was the adaptation of troops to decentralized command and control, which allowed junior commanders to make important decisions on the battlefield without prior permission from senior management.

The US Defense Department spokesman also noted that Ukraine "had years to prepare for Russia's offensive" in southeastern Ukraine, as there were regular battles in the region.

According to him, Ukraine has prepared trenches, anti-tank ambushes and much more on the eve of the imminent battle, but the Russians still have an advantage in military technology and general military power.

Russia focused its attack on Donbass, only to move on to a "mass offensive."

NATO countries have decided that they must prevent Russia's victory in the war against Ukraine

NATO countries and partners have agreed that they must not allow the Russian army to win in Ukraine.

This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz following a video meeting with Western leaders, Voice of America reports. In addition to Scholz, the video conference was attended by the presidents of the United States, Poland, France, Romania, the prime ministers of Britain, Japan and Italy, as well as other officials, including EU leaders.

"Together with our partners in the EU and NATO, we are unanimous in our view that Russia should not win this war," Scholz said.

The Chancellor addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin directly:

"Stop the shelling of Ukrainian cities. Allow an immediate truce and withdraw your soldiers. Stop this terrible war."

Scholz called Russia's actions in Ukraine "a senseless war" and "a flagrant violation of international law."

A statement from the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's office said in a video conference that "the leaders agreed to work together to find a long-term security solution so that Ukraine could not be attacked again in this way."

The United States, for its part, will increase artillery supplies to Ukraine, President Joe Biden told reporters after a video conference.

The virtual meeting also discussed the further development of the situation in Ukraine and how to provide official Kyiv with security guarantees after the end of the war, given that Ukraine is not a member of NATO.

According to France, these guarantees will be more similar to the articles of the EU Charter on Collective Defense of its member countries than to Art. 5 of the NATO Charter, which states that an attack on one country of the alliance is an attack on all members of the bloc.

"Second phase" of the war against Ukraine: Zelensky responded to Russia's threats

The statement of the Russian side about the second phase of the "special operation" in Ukraine is the same as the words "we will take Kyiv in 72 hours."

For the Ukrainian side, it doesn’t matter what phases the invaders divide the war into, said Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.

According to him, Russians love to tell fairy tales, but in reality there will be only what Ukraine needs.

Podolyak added that Ukrainians don't care in what phase to destroy the occupiers, "who don't know how to fight, but know how to kill people, destroy infrastructure, civilian infrastructure."

"...Well, well, they will go to the Donbass today, they will lose a certain number of their people, whom they do not consider to be people. All right, we will help them with this, too," the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office said.

Operational information as of 06.00 on 21.04.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

The fifty-seventh era of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion has begun.

The full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our State continues. The enemy is trying to continue offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The enemy continues to launch missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine. In the Volyn, Polissya and Seversky directions, the enemy did not take active action, no changes in the condition and position of groups of his troops were detected. In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues to increase the system of technical support. In Balakleya, wounded Russian servicemen began to be placed in the city's polyclinic, despite the fact that a hospital for the Russian military was set up in the building of the local music school. The location of the occupiers in the city polyclinic indicates a significant increase in the number of wounded and problems with their subsequent medical evacuation. The enemy continues to partially block and shell the city of Kharkiv. In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the enemy continues to carry out artillery shelling along the entire line of contact. In the Kherson region, the invaders plan to organize the forced mobilization of the population for war with Ukraine. At the same time, the occupiers set a goal to completely stop the humanitarian support of the region from the Ukrainian authorities. The terror of the population continues. Thus, in the village of Zolota Balka, Kherson region, representatives of the Russian occupation forces held a meeting with the local population, where they stated that there would be no more "green corridors" and forbade people to leave the settlement. In addition, they warned that in case of shelling of their positions by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian invaders will start shelling the settlement. The occupiers continue to patrol the apartments and conduct searches. In the South Bug direction, the enemy is shelling the positions of our troops. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has hit four air targets in the previous day: three unmanned aerial vehicles and one cruise missile. Nine enemy attacks have been repulsed in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts over the past 24 hours, one tank, ten armored units and two vehicles, one artillery system, two special engineering units, an anti-aircraft missile system and an enemy ammunition depot have been destroyed. "They want to repeat the Holodomor": the occupiers plan to take grain out of Kherson and Zaporozhye

The Russian invaders intend to take Ukrainian grain out of the storages of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.

"Russian invaders continue to steal and want to repeat the famine of 1932 not only in Ukraine, but also to cause famine in the world," Lyudmila Denisova said.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor

She drew attention to the fact that residents of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea report that they have recently noticed an increase in the number of freight trains, on the wagons of which “grain” is written. All of them belong to the "North Caucasian Railway". "Trains go to the railway stations that border on the Kherson region. The temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea does not have its grain reserves for export in such quantities. Kherson region and Zaporozhye region produce large grain crops and at present a large number of granaries are located there. Therefore, the Russians intend take out all Ukrainian grain. A few weeks ago, the Russians already stole grain from the Berdyansk port," Denisova stressed.

Also, eyewitnesses from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea report that the sale of vegetables exported from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region has begun on the peninsula.

"The export of grain and food products from the occupied territories is a violation of Article 55 of the 1949 Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War," said Lyudmila Denisova.

Russian leadership announced its refusal to storm Azovstal

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President's Office, explained why the Russian leadership announced its refusal to storm the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Arestovich noted at a briefing that in the morning Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a meeting and publicly announced that Mariupol had been taken, as well as the refusal to storm Azovstal, because they did not want losses among the Russian military there, who otherwise would have had to fight difficult battles on the ruins of the metallurgical plant.

"Putin showed 'care' for Russian soldiers so that they do not die there. This means the following - they cannot physically take Azovstal, they understood this - they suffered huge losses there," Arestovich said.

According to him, our defenders continue to hold the metallurgical plant. At the same time, he added that the refusal to take Azovstal could be explained by the fact that the Russians had transferred part of their troops to the north in order to strengthen their forces, which are trying to solve the main political task - to reach the administrative border of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

"They will not be able to do this. And this premature announcement of victories, without waiting for either Easter or May 9, shows that the Russians have realized the futility of their last active operation at this stage of the war," Arestovich said.

Earlier, UNIAN has already reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu lied to the President of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, about the capture of Mariupol.

The defenders of the city immediately reacted to this report with data on the destruction of the invaders' equipment. At the same time, Putin ordered Shoigu to cancel the assault on Azovstal because it was "unreasonable."

Russia has changed the tactics of the war against Ukraine: the Ministry of Defense revealed the details

After Russia failed to seize Ukraine and change power in Kyiv, it changed its war strategy. This was stated to the "Observer" by Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar.

Speaking about the constant missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, Anna Malyar explained that the aggressor is thus trying to put psychological pressure on the civilian population.

"They started using rockets - this is a psychological influence to make us surrender, because our surrender is important to Russia. Rocket strikes are very difficult to endure psychologically. When it's your hometown, your native people are incredible," Anna Malyar explains.

She called the creation of pseudo-republics one of the initial goals of the Russian Federation. Also, the enemy planned to capture Kyiv and thus - all power in the country.

It was a maximum plan. The minimum plan is the geographical borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and a passage to bring water to the Crimea. They did not take these two lines, but they seized some territories - this is not a secret,” says Anna Malyar.

Separately, Anna Malyar noted the resistance of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories, where their inhabitants refuse to cooperate with the Russians.

"And this is something that Russians will never understand in Ukrainian nature, that we are ready to die for freedom," emphasizes Anna Malyar. Therefore, according to her, the Kremlin began to use missiles to bomb civilian and military targets throughout the country. The aggressor is trying to raze entire cities to the ground and thus put pressure on the inhabitants of the country.

"But these, at first glance, irrational rocket attacks have a practical purpose - to intimidate us. Just like atrocities against the civilian population, the goal is to intimidate," Anna Malyar explains.

During the live broadcast of Rebrik and Ognevich, a powerful explosion thundered Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich went live with TV presenter Lilia Rebrik.

The girls discussed the war in Ukraine, and Zlata also said that she was staying in Kyiv. During their conversation, an explosion rumbled outside the window. At that moment, Zlata quieted down, listened and calmly said: "Explosion." Such a calm reaction of the singer surprised Rebrik.

"I'm listening to you, but I'm just so shocked that you calmly said about it. An explosion ... Somewhere out there, outside the window. It's scary. For me, the worst thing is getting used to such abnormal conditions," the TV presenter said.

Ognevich noted that she had already begun to get used to the current realities. According to her, she does not want to be constantly afraid, and, moreover, there are people who are much worse than her.

"Now the people in Mariupol, who were simply taken hostage by the occupiers, are in much worse conditions than I am. My heart bleeds for Chernihiv, for Izyum, for Mariupol. Especially since I have friends in Mariupol. Every time, when I get a message from them, I rejoice: “Thank God, they are alive.” And this is how I live from message to message,” Ognevich added.

IMF: Ukraine needs $5 billion a month to support the economy

Ukraine needs $5 billion in financial assistance every month to keep its economy going. The first priority is to find ways to fill this gap in the next three months.

This was stated by the director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva, reports Reuters. One day of war costs the Ukrainian state budget 2 billion hryvnias.

She stated that despite the uncertainty about the future of Ukraine, the IMF will begin work on a future loan program. Georgieva noted that it would be "unfair" to expect Ukraine to now be able to implement a serious package of reforms.

The International Monetary Fund predicts that the Ukrainian economy will shrink by 35% this year due to the war. in a January report, the International Monetary Fund worsened its global economic growth forecast by 0.5 percentage points to 4.4% due to the spread of the coronavirus (namely the Omicron strain) and rising energy prices. The International Monetary Fund also expected high inflation to continue.

Without consulting NATO: Britain could retaliate with nuclear strike on Russia - Johnson

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made an important statement regarding the likely use of nuclear weapons by Russia.

During the next appeal to the people, the 57-year-old politician told what actions the UK would take in response to a nuclear strike from the Russian Federation. According to him, if Putin decides to use weapons of mass destruction against Ukraine, Britain will not be silent. There will be a retaliatory strike immediately, without additional consultations.

"In the event of the use of weapons of mass destruction, the UK reserves the right to strike back on its own, without consulting with other NATO countries," Johnson said.

Johnson believes that it is impossible to negotiate diplomatically with Putin and compared the Russian president to a crocodile with a leg in its jaw:

"How can you negotiate with a crocodile when there is a leg in its jaws? That is the difficulty Ukrainians face. You just need to continue the strategy, continue to supply weapons to Ukraine."

The United States threatened China with large-scale sanctions for helping Russia in the war against Ukraine

The US has threatened China with sweeping sanctions and export controls. Washington saw signs that the People's Liberation Army of China is supporting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Brussels.

President Biden spoke directly to Xi Jinping, Jake Sullivan, our national security adviser, to Yang Jiechi, and Blinken to Foreign Minister Wang Yi. what we have done in terms of sanctions, export controls on Russia, this should give them an idea of what we can do if China really provides material support to the Russian Federation.China is already doing things that do not improve the situation.Beijing seeks to undermine the very system from which he won," Sherman said.

At the same time, she condemned the human rights situation in China, the economic pressure on Lithuania and European companies such as H&M, as well as allegations of "foul play", including the theft of trade secrets and intellectual property.

Earlier, other senior US officials warned that Washington would punish Beijing if it is found to be helping Russian President Vladimir Putin in the war against Ukraine.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, CIA Director Nicholas Burns and Sherman herself have all warned in recent weeks that China would face significant costs if such aid were to be provided, in a dramatic shift in Washington's tone.

In addition, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Duleep Singh said that the White House sees signs that the People's Liberation Army of China is supporting the Russian Armed Forces through a number of direct and indirect channel

The United States will transfer drones developed according to the requirements of Kyiv to Ukraine: what else is included in the assistance

Ukraine will receive military assistance from the United States - howitzers and tactical drones.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

"Ukraine will receive an $800 million military aid package. It includes howitzers and tactical drones. In addition, the United States will provide Ukraine with direct economic assistance in the amount of $500 million," he said.

Yermak also added that the US president announced a ban on Russian-linked ships from entering US ports.

In turn, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told in detail what will be included in the new aid package for Ukraine. According to him, the US will provide 72 155-mm howitzers and tactical vehicles to tow them, as well as 144,000 additional artillery rounds.

In addition, the new package includes more than 120 Phoenix Ghost tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, which the US Air Force has developed "in response, in particular, to Ukrainian requirements." The drones "provide similar capabilities" to the Switchblade drones that were delivered to Ukraine last time.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense said that the Phoenix Ghost is "a tactical weapon that is designed to strike, and it could be expected that it would be useful against a number of different targets."

"This is a great example of adapting to the needs of Ukrainians in real time," the official added.

The system will require minimal training for experienced drone operators, Kirby said: "We're going to be working on these training requirements directly with the Ukrainian military."

US President Joe Biden issued a new statement on the situation in Ukraine. According to him, now Russia has reoriented the company to seize new territories in eastern Ukraine.

According to him, Ukraine will receive a new $800 million military support package and $500 million in economic assistance, and also announced a program for Ukrainian refugees.

The US launches a program to support refugees from Ukraine: what is known

The US government is launching a new Unity for Ukraine program. The initiative is aimed at helping Ukrainian refugees to emigrate from Europe to the United States under an accelerated procedure.

This was stated by the President of the United States during an online speech.

Today I am announcing the Unity for Ukraine program so that Ukrainians who are fleeing can come directly to the United States. This is a new humanitarian program that will complement other legal mechanisms for helping refugees,” the President of the United States said.

At the same time, he indicated that the government would speed up the admission process so that Ukrainians from Europe could migrate to the United States.

"Especially those who have sponsors, or those who have relatives here. The procedure for accepting Ukrainian refugees will be accelerated," President  Biden said .

In addition, Ukrainian refugees were allowed to stay in the United States for up to two years if there is a person who is ready to provide financial support.

The United States declared its readiness to accept up to 100,000 Ukrainians who are fleeing the war. At the same time, the number of Ukrainians arriving in the United States is relatively small compared to the 3.8 million residents of Ukraine received by European countries after the Russian invasion.

On April 2, information appeared that the flow of refugees from Ukraine was increasing on the US-Mexico border after the White House administration announced its readiness to accept up to one hundred thousand Ukrainians in the country.

On April 18, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, said that Ukrainians in the United States will be able to receive temporary support status, which allows them to stay in the country for up to 18 months and work.

Russian invaders evacuated at least 500,000 Ukrainians from territories they occupied - Zelensky

He stressed that deported Ukrainians are deprived of means of communication, everything is taken from them, even documents.

The Russian occupiers have already evacuated at least 500,000 Ukrainians from the territory they occupied, including 160,000 children.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a speech to the Parliament of Portugal.

"The Russian invaders have already taken at least 500 thousand of our citizens from the territory they occupied. It's like your two cities of Porto. Just imagine it. There were people - and they are not. 500 thousand people! This is deportation. This is what they did the most terrible totalitarian regimes of the past," the president said.

He stressed that deported Ukrainians are deprived of means of communication, everything is taken from them, even documents.

"They are distributed to remote regions of Russia. The invaders have created special filtration camps in order to distribute people. Some of those who get there are simply killed. Girls are raped. Imagine what it's like when a girl escapes from such a filtration camp of Russians, and in response to a question about how she did it, she says that she simply did not like the Russian soldiers. Because if they liked her, she would have been raped and then killed, like many others," Zelensky said.

The head of state also stressed that due to the hostilities, more than 10 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes.

Imagine this number. It would be if the whole of Portugal was forced to leave! I don’t want to call these 10 million Ukrainians refugees. We use the term “displaced persons” in relation to them, these people. We hope that all of them can return home when there "It will be safe. But when will it be? And what will be left of their house?"

"I heard how they tortured people from other cells, the poor screamed in pain, and then they were simply shot" - a student from Mariupol told what the Russians are doing with those who tried to leave the city

20-year-old Azerbaijani Huseyn Abdulaev, 3rd year student of Mariupol State University. On March 17, during the evacuation, he was taken prisoner by the Russian military. On April 12, he was released thanks to the negotiations of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
How many days were you in captivity?
- In total, I spent 25 days there. They sat me down and tied my hands. They began to ask questions, at first exerted moral pressure, trying to force me to admit that I was a soldier of the Azov regiment. I insisted that I was a student. They began to threaten me that if I did not want to speak in a good way, it would be in a bad way. They attached a machine to my big toes and started delivering painful shocks. They wanted me to confess that I was in the military. But I had nothing to say, I didn’t lie to them, I’m just a student ...
- How often were you tortured?
- Every day. March 21 was my birthday and I was tortured all day. The torture was suspended only 5-6 days before an agreement was reached and I was released. They no longer let electric discharges, but they continued to beat ... As a rule, they beat 10-15 people at once. But this is not the worst thing, I was more afraid of the electric current.
As a rule, the electric shock lasted 20-30 minutes, and the beating lasted for an hour. The torture was repeated three times a day. It happened that I lost consciousness, they poured cold water on me and continued to mock me further.
- How many people were you in the cell?
- Together with me, Sergey Nazarov, a major of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Mariupol, Edik Krostov, an employee of one of the factories, and Alexei Lustov, a volunteer, were captured.
- How were they treated?
“They were bullied even worse. Especially over the volunteer. Due to the fact that the guy had a tattoo on his leg, they beat him so that his leg was very swollen. He had heart problems, an attack began, I tried to help him, after which I was beaten even harder. As a rule, they did not hit him in the face, but for some reason this did not apply to Edik Rostov. When we saw him, there was no living place on him. And a current was constantly passed through the body of Sergei Nazarov and filmed.
- Do you know anything about the fate of those who were with you in the same cell?
- Edik Rostov was released before me, he was sent to the Crimea. So we were told. I don't know for sure if this is true or not. Perhaps he was killed. I don't believe that they will be left alive... You know, I heard how they tortured people from other cells, the poor screamed in pain, and then they were simply shot. Silence ensued...
- Do you plan to return to Azerbaijan?
- In the near future I plan to come to my homeland.
- Will you continue your education in Azerbaijan?
- I want Ukraine to win the war. If this happens, I will return and continue my studies in Mariupol.

How Russia, with the help of tank biathlon, children in tunics and the Kalashnikov cult, endured and gave birth to a full-scale war - as inhuman as it was archaic.
Last year, a documentary film by Sergei Loznitsa “Babi Yar. Context". There, the director shows an archival chronicle of the fascist invasion of Ukraine in the summer of 1941: endless columns of tanks with a swastika, trucks, motorcycles, artillery pieces roll in the dust, and gloomy, silent peasants stand along the roads.
Today I catch myself feeling a sense of deja vu when I look at the footage of the Russian invasion - all the same gray columns of armored vehicles, dirty, fuming, clumsy, as if they had left the military chronicle of 1941, only on the sides and towers instead of the Nazi swastika they have drawn Russian-fascist swastika Z.
These columns are phantasmagoric and archaic, like ghosts dug out of the ground, crawling out from the battlefields of either the Second World War or the First World War, like a megalomaniac historical reconstruction staged by a crazy gamer.
Inside the cars, everything is Soviet-style miserable: leatherette, plywood, benches, expired canned food, soldiers loot and terrorize local residents. The troops are experiencing problems with logistics, supply, communication, navigation - the columns navigate the terrain according to road signs, stall without fuel, get stuck in the spring mud.
Instead of a dapper modernized contract army, which propaganda has been talking about for many years, a clumsy army appeared to the world without clear tasks, morals and motivation, not even knowing the goals of its invasion, transferred from “exercises” to a war of conquest.

Hopeless archaism, which has been reigning in the minds of people in Russia for two decades, crawled out into the light as snarling tyrannosaurs, a bloody "park of the Russian period." Dinosaurs snarl with fire, crushing cars that have fallen under them, shooting at random cars - like those two pensioners near Kyiv.
Armored vehicles are knocked out on the march in whole columns, videos show dozens of burnt cars - as if all the outdated, iron, mechanical civilization forged in Russia over the past 300 years, from Peter to Putin, should turn into a pile of scrap metal on the roadsides of Ukrainian roads.
Just as archaic and inhuman are the methods of war: the bombardment of residential areas and the blockade of Ukrainian cities; it is genocide and war crimes of the 20th century, murder on an industrial scale. The tragedy of Mariupol makes us remember pictures that we have not seen for 80 years: Guernica, Coventry, Stalingrad, Dresden. Yes, since then there has been Grozny, Aleppo (“we can train there for quite a long time,” as Putin cynically grinned) - but there still was not such a huge ground invasion army, as in the Second World War. Probably, when the Kremlin was planning this operation, they imagined something like the US war in the Persian Gulf - a high-tech blitzkrieg from the air, the triumph of a higher civilization. But it turned out in Russian clumsy, clumsy, inefficient: Russia here does not look like the Americans, but rather like the poorly trained and demotivated armies of Saddam or the Egyptian troops during the six-day war, abandoning Soviet military equipment in the Sinai desert.
And finally, the very foundations for this war are archaic: the trauma of the collapse of the USSR (“the biggest geopolitical catastrophe”), post-imperial resentment, the jealousy of an abandoned husband, feverish delirium about a “one people” - all these are convulsions of a dying empire that has been more than a hundred years old, since 1917 years, can't breathe. Modern Russia never became a nation, but remained a phantom, a ghost of the Russian Empire, staggering Zombie, rising from the grave and terrorizing the living.

A full-scale war under a fictitious pretext to seize the territory of a neighbor is monstrous, but at the same time ridiculous in the 21st century, as if its masterminds had been reading historical novels and cheap fiction about hitmen. His obsession with history has played a cruel trick on Putin, turning him into that unfortunate WWII hitman, looking around in amazement at the world of the future.
The war is far from over. Perhaps the most brutal battles are yet to come. But Russia has already lost - and this is not just a failure of a military operation, but a civilizational defeat of Russia in a collision with modernity: for so long cultivating its own archaism, nurturing bonds and traditional values, playing historical reconstructions and tank biathlon, dressing up children in tunics and creating a cult " Kalashnikov”, like the African tribes, it produced an antediluvian war, cruel, absurd and ineffective, where tank battalions fight for weeks for individual villages and farms, it has become not only a global threat, but also a global laughing stock.

Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine

"Modern" Russian cruise missiles are equipped with electronics developed in the 60s of last century
▪ X-101 missiles were manufactured from 1999 to 2013. Russian media reported them as the pride of the latest high-precision Russian weapons.
▪However, the result of the occupiers' use of X-101 missiles during hostilities in Ukraine refuted the claimed effectiveness. The electronic component base turned out to be very far from modern.
▪ The analysis of X-55 cruise missile guidance and navigation systems, as well as their modifications X-555 and X-101 conducted by Ukrainian experts showed that "modern" guidance units were developed in 1960-1970 and produced by the Voronezh Radio Parts Plant. "Minsk plant" Integral "and other enterprises of the Soviet Union.
▪ Also, the “newest” missiles use the “PGI-2M” navigation system. Developed in 1977, it was mass-installed on Su-27 or MiG-29 aircraft of the Soviet period.
▪Most of the X-101 missiles launched on the territory of Ukraine did not hit the set targets.

Good news from Melitopol! Because Melitopol is Ukraine!
According to the mayor of Melitopol, with the beginning of the occupation, civilians resisted the enemy peacefully. Instead, they resorted to guerrilla warfare, when the enemy began blocking people's rallies, shooting at Melitopol residents and kidnapping civilians.
"According to intelligence, the destruction of 100 Russians has been confirmed. The occupiers are trying to find at least someone, but they can't, because the whole of Melitopol is against them," the mayor stressed.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02 to 22.04 were approximately:278511095_300239922289093_74489014743725

Operational information as of 06.00 on 22.04.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

The fifty-eighth era of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion has begun.
The Russian Federation continues its full-scale armed aggression against our country and launches missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure.
In the Volyn and Polissya areas, the enemy did not take active action, no signs of the formation of offensive groups were found. Measures are being taken to strengthen the coverage of the state border in the western and north-western directions. The air defense forces and means have been transferred to reinforced duty. The protection of headquarters, communications centers, military camps, arsenals, bases and warehouses for weapons, military equipment and fuel and lubricants has been strengthened.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy, with forces of up to seven battalion tactical groups from the 6th All-Army, coastal troops of the Baltic and Northern Fleets, continues to partially block the city of Kharkiv, firing on units of our troops and critical infrastructure.
In the Izyum direction, the enemy concentrated up to 25 battalion tactical groups from the 1st Panzer Army, the 20th and 35th All-Army Armies and the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District, and airborne troops of the Russian Armed Forces. federation.
The enemy is trying to launch an offensive in the direction of the settlement of Zavody. He went to the northern outskirts of Dibrovny, trying to gain a foothold on the frontier.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the occupiers intensified hostilities along the entire line of combat during the day. The enemy carries out assault operations in the area of the settlement of Zarichne and, with forces to the battalion, tries to advance in the area of the settlement of Rubizhne.
Defensive battles with the enemy continue in the direction of the settlements of Novtoshkivske and Popasna.
The enemy continues to try to support the artillery in the area of Marinka.
At the same time, the enemy strengthens the grouping of troops in the Zaporozhye direction. Measures for the logistical support of the occupying forces are underway.
In the South Bug area, the enemy continues to fire on units of the Defense Forces, tried to conduct reconnaissance by fighting in the Trudolyubivka area, suffered losses, and retreated to previously occupied positions.
The enemy continues to suffer losses. According to the available information, on April 20 this year, another consignment of wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (about 220 people) and more than 50 bodies of the killed invaders were taken to the central district hospital of Novoaydar.
In addition, the battalion tactical group of the 136th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 58th All-Military Army of the Southern Military District, operating in the Kurakhiv area, suffered significant casualties (up to 250 men) and lost up to 10 jets and artillery.
Also, according to available information, the personnel of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th All-Military Army of the Southern Military District, which was involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, did not receive the so-called "combat" funds for March. Because of which the servicemen express their dissatisfaction and indignation.
In order to prevent the disruption of the spring conscription campaign in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from April 30 this year, the occupiers will be banned from leaving and entering the peninsula.
In the temporarily occupied territories, enemy units continue to block the movement of local people, looting and artificially approaching the humanitarian crisis - destroying critical infrastructure and blocking the delivery of humanitarian goods from Ukraine. There have been cases of executions of civilians and volunteers.
Ten attacks by the Russian occupiers were repulsed in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts over the past 24 hours, six tanks, eight armored units and fifteen vehicles, and four artillery systems were destroyed.
Fifteen air targets were destroyed by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with anti-aircraft gunners of the Land and Assault Forces, Marines and the National Guard, in the previous day: nine UAVs, three planes and three helicopters.
We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Let's win together! Glory to Ukraine!

15 AIR TARGETS OF RUSSIAN OCCUPIERS AFFECTED
-------------------------
April 21 is a truly fruitful day for Ukrainian air defense, as 15 air targets were destroyed at once.
Nine of them are Orlan-10 operational-tactical drones.
The anti-aircraft missile units of the Land Forces destroyed six such aircraft, two more "Eagles" from MANPADS hit the Airborne Assault Forces and one UAV - at the expense of the Air Force.
Almost simultaneously, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force East Command destroyed two Russian planes in the Izyum direction. Previously - Su-34 and Su-35.
Assault troops supplement the statistics of downed enemy aircraft with a Su-25 attack aircraft and a Mi-8 helicopter.
Another Mi-8 is shot down by Marines.
The fact that soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine are joining the demilitarization of Russian aircraft and the destruction of killer pilots, who report the downing of the Alligator, a Ka-52 helicopter of the Russian occupation forces, is also gratifying.
The Air Force aircraft continues to perform special tasks in the airspace of Ukraine, covers ground troops and inflicts fire damage on the positions of the Russian occupation forces.
Thus, by the end of the day on April 21, 15 air targets were hit:
☑️ 3 aircraft (previously Su-34, Su-35, Su-25);
☑️ 3 helicopters (two Mi-8 and one Ka-52);
☑️ 9 OTR UAVs (Orlan-10).

US President Joe Biden amazed by the courage of the Ukrainians: They are tougher and prouder than I thought

US President Joe Biden said he was amazed at the courage and strength of the Ukrainians, who have been fighting the Russian occupiers for almost two months.

He stated this during a meeting with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, his deputy Kathleen Hicks and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, according to the New York Post.

During the meeting, the US power elite discussed the war in Ukraine. The US President praised American military leaders in the White House for arming Ukraine and providing advice after the Russian attack began.

"I want to commend the exceptional work you are doing to arm and equip the brave Ukrainians to defend their nation," Biden said.

He also said that he did not expect such a strong fight from Ukraine.

I don’t know about you, but I was in Ukraine several times before the war - I spoke in the Rada. I was deeply involved in what was happening in Ukraine. And I knew that they were tough and proud. But I will tell you that they are more tougher and prouder than I thought. I am amazed at what they are doing with your help in providing advice and weapons that we provide along with the rest of NATO," Biden said.

US President Joe Biden will make a new statement on the situation around Russia and Ukraine.

The day before, US presidential press secretary Jen Psaki said that Biden "with sadness or with fear" perceives terrible photos from Ukraine, "for the people of Ukraine, for families, for children, for innocent civilians at risk."
