A consignment of Browning and MG machine guns arrived in Ukraine from Italy
More and more Ukrainian defense fighters are undergoing an intensive course on the use of Browning M2 and MG 42/59 machine guns.
The machine guns are provided as part of Italy's accession to the list of EU countries that send weapons to Ukraine.
On February 28, the Italian government approved a decree-law containing measures to assist Ukraine, including the sending of military equipment, supplies and equipment.
Thus, Italy joins the decisions taken by other European Union countries, such as France and Germany, to send weapons to Ukraine.
The MG 42/59 machine gun is the only Italian machine gun based on the MG3, which is an improved version of the MG-42 machine gun.

Few people know, but in Vienna - in the capital of Austria, on Mount Leopoldsberg stands a beautiful monument to the Ukrainian Cossacks.
337 years ago, a decisive battle took place here, which stopped the expansion of Turkish troops deep into Europe. And the decisive role in it was played by regiments of Ukrainian Cossacks called by the Austrians for help.
In 2013, the local diaspora decided to perpetuate their memory by erecting a monument to the Cossacks.

Russians are nonhumans.
Russian schoolgirl asked brother-invader to kill Ukrainians as soon as possible - audio interception

The Russian occupier called his relative and said that his schoolgirl sister Liza wrote him a letter urging him to kill the Ukrainians as soon as possible and come home.

This is evidenced by a conversation intercepted by the Security Service of Ukraine between the Russian invader and his relative, whom he calls "rat-like"
“Lisa was told that humanitarian aid was collected at school ... Liza put socks on me and wrote a letter. “Babaeva Elizaveta is writing to you. I ask you to kill the Ukrainians as soon as possible and come home," the occupant says, and at the same time he cannot help laughing.

"That's right, the child actually said everything," the relative of the invader answers.

The Foreign Ministry harshly criticized Hungary for its willingness to pay for Russian gas in rubles
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that in this way Hungary helps Putin to continue the aggression against Ukraine.

"The political campaign of the ruling party in Hungary during the parliamentary elections was built on the intimidation of the Hungarians by the alleged threat of Russia's war spreading to Hungarian territory. Obviously, after the elections in Budapest, they moved on to the next stage - to help Putin continue the aggression against Ukraine, the civilized world and Christian values," Nikolenko emphasized.

"The unwillingness of the Hungarian leadership to recognize the irrefutable responsibility of the Russian Federation for the atrocities of the Russian army in Bucha, Irpen, Gostomel and other settlements means deliberately strengthening Russia's sense of impunity and encouraging it to new atrocities against Ukrainians," the speaker said.

He added that the statements of the Hungarian leadership about their readiness to pay for Russian gas in rubles belong to the same category.

"The Russian Federation is trying to transfer payments for gas supplies to Europe into the national currency in order to save the Russian economy against the backdrop of international sanctions. The Russian military machine needs resources to continue the war against Ukraine," Nikolenko stressed.

"In this context, we consider the statement about the readiness to pay for Russian gas in rubles as an unfriendly position towards our state. Such statements also contradict the consolidated position of the European Union, which has fundamentally refused to satisfy the Russian whim," Nikolenko stressed.

The speaker noted that Ukrainians and Hungarians are united by centuries-old historical, political, economic and cultural ties, and Ukraine is the homeland for about 150 thousand Ukrainian Hungarians. "At the same time, the logic that politicians in Budapest are now guided by, playing along with Russia's aggressive policy, is harmful to both of our peoples," the diplomat added.

"Against this background, proposals to hold peace talks between Ukraine and Russia in Budapest look cynical. If Hungary really wants to help end the war, here's how to do it: stop destroying unity in the EU, support new anti-Russian sanctions, provide military assistance to Ukraine, do not create additional sources to finance the Russian military machine," Nikolenko stressed.

He added that it is never too late to turn to the right side of history.

The mayor of Bucha, Kiev region, Anatoly Fedoruk, spoke about the mass graves in the city, discovered after the atrocities committed there by the Russian occupiers.

According to Fedoruk, as of yesterday evening, there were 320 dead civilians, the number of bodies found is growing every day.

"Because they are found in private estates, parks, squares, where it was possible, when there was no shelling, to bury the bodies. People tried to bury the dead so that the dogs would not be taken away. Now in the villages of the community in such temporary burials we find new bodies every day" - said the mayor of Buchi.

He added that almost 90 percent of the dead are bullet wounds, not shrapnel.

The world was shocked by the terrible footage of mass graves. Therefore, Fedoruk was asked how many such graves were found in Bucha.

Three places were found in Bucha: this is the territory of the Ukragrosnab enterprise, where the Russian invaders dumped the bodies of people with their hands tied like firewood. And also Vokzalnaya, Yablunskaya streets and the Promenisty children’s camp, where they also found people with their hands tied and bullet wounds,” said the mayor of the city.

Buchan massacre: what is known
After the liberation of Bucha, numerous photos and videos began to appear in the Kiev region, demonstrating the atrocities of the Russian invaders.

In particular, the footage shows the bodies of dead civilians lying on the streets of Bucha. Some have their hands tied and gunshot wounds to the head.

The Russian Ministry of Defense denied any involvement in the brutal killings and torture of the inhabitants of Bucha. They say that the bodies were recently thrown into the streets - after all Russian units completely left Bucha, around March 30th.

Russia demanded an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on "provocations of Ukrainian radicals" in Bucha on April 4, but was refused.

An analysis of satellite imagery by the American newspaper The New York Times showed that Russian claims that the killings of civilians in Bucha occurred after its soldiers left the city are false. Many civilians were killed over three weeks ago when the Russian military was in control of the city.

The US Senate has unanimously passed a law that will revive the land lease program to speed up the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

During the Second World War, this program allowed to quickly provide allied armies, - reports Politico magazine.
In a brief speech in the Senate on Wednesday night, majority leader Chuck Schumer called the massacres a "pure evil", adding that Russian troops were committing "genocide" in Ukraine.

The Senate has revived a World War II measure that once helped defeat Hitler. The law will expedite the transfer of military equipment and other vital materials to Kiev. Lend-Lease means that deliveries will be made on credit. Now the House of Representatives must vote for the bill.

We demand that Russia be immediately excluded from all international organizations‼ ️
Today, the UN General Assembly will consider suspending Russia's membership in the UN Human Rights Council.
This issue was initiated by the United States and a number of other countries. A positive decision to suspend Russia's membership will require two-thirds of the votes of the members of the General Assembly, which includes 193 countries.
The United States also supported the initiative in the United Kingdom. British Foreign Secretary Liz Trass said that "Russia cannot remain a member of the UN human rights body after what happened in Bucha."
An expulsion request can be made if it is established that the country is constantly committing gross and systematic human rights violations during its membership.
Russia has already reacted to a possible exception: post-envoy Vasyl Nebenzya called the attempt "unbelievable." Like all Russian officials, he denies allegations of crimes in Bucha.

The Ministry of Digital Development told how Musk and Starlink help in the war against Russia

Starlink can be used not only for military purposes, but, for example, in the occupied territories, where there may not be access to regular Internet sources.

Starlink complexes provide an opportunity to receive high-quality Internet in any conditions, even if there is no mobile or fixed connection.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov

"In fact, Starlink is an opportunity to get access to satellite Internet in any conditions, even if there is no mobile connection, fixed connection. That is, it is access to the Internet even in a field, in the middle of a forest and the opportunity to get high-quality fast Internet connection," he said.

According to him, Starlink can be used not only for military purposes, but, for example, in the occupied territories, where there may not be access to conventional Internet sources.

It is possible to deploy Starlink very quickly and get access to the Internet in 10 minutes. This is an opportunity to support the operation of a hospital, energy infrastructure, this is an opportunity for government agencies to work, that is, in any life situation, if there is no connection to which we are used to, there is no Internet , there is an option to use Starlink," he said.

He also added that Ukraine continues to receive Starlink stations.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the chairman of the Sumy regional military administration, Dmitry Zhivitsky, noted that three hospitals in Sumy received Starlink complexes to provide communications.

What are cluster munitions, why are they dangerous and are they really banned?

Throughout its history, mankind has created enough deadly weapons, one of them is cluster bombs.

Cluster munitions are indeed one of the most dangerous types of weapons actively used by the Russian army against the civilian population in Ukraine. The enemy bombards cities with them, for example, Nikolaev was hit with just such a weapon, and unexploded ordnance can wait for its victim for a long time.

What are cluster munitions
The idea of a cluster munition is that instead of one large bomb, it is possible to drop many small ones on the enemy, thereby covering a large area.

1649326482-7087.jpg?0.8532469223479968

For example, in the high-explosive splinter FAB-500
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAB-500

the weight of the explosive is 300 kg, but it detonates in one place. This is enough to create an 8.5-meter funnel or completely destroy the house.

And, for example, the FAB-500 cluster can contain 565 small 0.5-kg SHOAB-0.5 fragmentation bombs, each of which will contain only 70 grams of explosives. Each of them separately is unlikely to cause catastrophic destruction. But when they dot the area with several football fields and explode at the same time, this is already a terrible weapon.

1649326587-4428.jpg?0.7857346555948306

In very simple terms, a cluster munition is a container that "scatters" much smaller munitions over an area. These can be the aforementioned fragmentation bombs, shaped charges, mines, or even homing guided sub-munitions.

They are all commonly used in open areas because that is where they are most effective. However, the reality is far from theory, and the Russian army in Ukraine has repeatedly used cluster munitions, bombarding civilian buildings with them.

The danger of cluster munitions
Apart from the immediate danger when the enemy strikes with cluster munitions, it is really necessary to remember that they are extremely "mean". The fact is that each individual sub-munition is a miniature bomb with its own detonator and explosives.

And, especially when it comes to Russian weapons, there is a good chance that these sub-munitions will not explode. That is, a dangerous zone is formed, which sappers need to carefully check before people can safely walk there.

Moreover, some sub-munitions do not look like a dangerous object at all and may be of interest to children. For example, it can be a metal ball lying in the grass, or a ribbon sticking out of the ground, perhaps even a completely "peaceful" pink color, or it will be a "flounce".

1649326660-6992.jpg?0.9595633700750912

Not only touching, but even approaching such objects is dangerous.

It should also be noted that the Russian army most often uses cluster munitions in the form of combat units in projectiles of rocket fire systems. The traces of these attacks are relatively easy to see thanks to the remnants of the cassettes themselves.

1649326697-4023.jpg?0.11259063934212277

cluster munitions - prohibited by international agreements. Indeed, there is a relevant Convention on Cluster Munitions. It has been signed by more than 100 countries that have committed themselves not to use these weapons. But the Russian Federation is not a member of this convention.

Russian Su-30 fighter: universal "no analogues" come from the USSR

The basis of all the so-called aerospace forces of the Russian Federation are Soviet developments.
1649329074-2128.jpg?0.21582374425158712

The Russian army sometimes tries to compensate for obvious failures in battles on the ground with air actions. This usually leads to another “bird fall”, when a dozen air targets are destroyed by Ukrainian defenders in a day.

More often for air strikes, the Russian army uses Su-34 front-line bombers and Su-30 multifunctional fighters. The latter, because this is one of the most massive Russian aircraft, which have riveted more than 100 units for the army and navy of the Russian Federation.

Su-30 in the fantasies of the Kremlin
For years, Russian propaganda has been trying to create a “halo” around the Su-30 as a unique vehicle in terms of its capabilities, calling it a “universal destroyer.” This is due to the fact that this aircraft was actively exported. Since the 1990s, more than half a thousand Su-30s have been delivered to foreign countries, and India and China have become the main buyers of these aircraft.

But it should be recalled that the Su-30 itself is just a modernization of the Su-27, or rather its "combat training" version. And the "Russian" Su-30 fighter made its first flight in 1989, that is, during the Soviet era.

And it was the Su-30 that saved the Russian military aviation industry from collapse in the 90s, because it was able to be "driven" for export, primarily due to the price, which is many times less than Western aircraft.

Su-30 - characteristics:
On paper, the Russians drew extremely high characteristics for their Su-30:

high maneuverability with a rate of climb of 230 m/s;
modern radar, sighting system and other avionics;
combat load 8-11 tons on 12 suspension points;
a wide range of ammunition, including high-precision weapons;
as well as two pilots, one of which can only deal with the use of weapons.

Su-30 in real combat
However, the combat use of the Su-30 in Ukraine put everything in its place. Photos and videos of Russian fighters burning on Ukrainian soil - no worse than sanctions discourage the desire to buy an aircraft with frankly "inflated" characteristics.

The reality turned out to be extremely pragmatic. As most of the captured Russian pilots say, they work "according to coordinates" with ordinary free-falling bombs. This means that there are very few high-precision aircraft weapons in the Russian army, and there is also no tactic for using them in a high-intensity conflict.

If in Syria the Russian army could fly freely at an altitude of 6-7 km and bomb "at its pleasure", then in Ukraine such a flight quickly ends with the receipt of a "personal" missile from the Buk anti-aircraft missile system.

From which the airborne electronic warfare module "Khibiny", advertised in the Russian Federation, does not save. Therefore, Russian pilots are left to move to low altitudes, where they already become targets for man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

That is why there is a huge difference between the numbers of performance characteristics and actual use. Of course, it is possible to call an aircraft a "universal destroyer", but if the tactics of its use have not changed since the Second World War, then the price is similar to it.

1649329077-8692.jpg?0.6495615276684419

By the way, the entire "family" of Su-27 aircraft was planned back in the 70s, and since that time the entire military defense complex of the Russian Federation has only been able to modernize Soviet developments. And the 20-year-old attempts to create a new Su-57 fighter crashed against sanctions, an ultra-high price and problems with mass production.

Battle for Donbass will resemble World War II - Kuleba

The battle for Donbass will be reminiscent of World War II with major operational maneuvers and thousands of tanks, aircraft and armored vehicles.

Such a statement following the results of meetings at NATO headquarters was made by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, writes Reuters.

Kuleba called on allies to provide assistance to Ukraine in the coming days.

"Either you help us now - I'm talking days, not weeks - or your help will come too late and many people will die," he told reporters.

The offensive of Russian troops in the Donbass: what is known
On March 29, it became known that the Russian Federation was withdrawing individual units from the Kiev and Chernihiv regions in order to redeploy them.

Before that, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the completion of the "first stage of the" special operation "and the transition to attacks in the Donbass.

The United States recorded that Russian forces began to withdraw from the outskirts near Kyiv and focus on positions in the south and east of Ukraine.

Despite this, the Russian Ministry of Defense and representatives of the Russian delegation in Istanbul claim that the withdrawal of Russian troops in the Kiev and Chernihiv regions is allegedly connected with progress in the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

On April 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned:

"The Russian occupiers continue to accumulate military strength in order to realize their sick ambitions in the Donbass. They are preparing to resume active offensive operations."

Oleksandr Gruzevich, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that after the redeployment of Russian troops to the east of Ukraine and an attempt to take control of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, a second attack on Kyiv should be expected.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk appealed to the residents of the Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions and urged them to evacuate while there is such an opportunity.

Ukraine destroyed up to 10% of Russian equipment: the expert told what Russia will attack in the east with

Ukraine destroyed approximately 8% of the ground and up to 10% of the aviation equipment of the Russian Federation in 43 days of the war.

This was announced by the director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Sergey Zgurets, Novoye Vremya reports. The military expert analyzed what forces the aggressor still has and what determines their effectiveness, as well as how, where and with what Ukraine will defend itself.

"In connection with optimistic indicators, we destroyed somewhere within 8% of ground equipment and somewhere up to 10% of aviation equipment, which was pulled up to the borders of Ukraine. That is, the reserves are quite significant. Russia pulled samples of tanks of various types, different generations. And now we see that T-72 tanks without dynamic protection are being removed from storage. That is, this equipment may be old, inefficient, but in any case, this is a weapon that will require efforts to destroy it, "says in the message.

The expert said that the groupings of Russian troops are primarily accumulated in Belgorod with a focus on Kharkov.

"The measures taken by the Ukrainian leadership, even without much strengthening, make it possible to contain this offensive. But, I think, it will be preceded by active attempts to operate aviation and artillery - this is a reflection of the usual Soviet Russian tactics using the maximum amount of artillery. This cannot but Therefore, the presence in our arsenals of models of equipment that can hit further than 100 kilometers is urgently needed today, and they will be even more needed tomorrow," he said.

Zgurets added that the tactics of countering Russian units is more effective because Ukraine uses active defense approaches and the actions of dispersed forces and units. The Russians are using the old straight-forward tactics, where the command is provided almost from Moscow itself, which significantly slows down the pace of hostilities.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation retreated from the Kiev region, because it could not fight the Ukrainian army. However, the occupiers plan to concentrate military operations in the East and South.

Ukraine needs NATO-standard weapons - Reznikov
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov addressed the international partners with a proposal to transfer the armament of NATO standards to Ukraine.

Ukraine must get the weapons used by NATO countries as soon as possible, said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov to the partner countries.

This is the best solution for many reasons.

"Earlier, we focused on obtaining Soviet-style weapons. This is a logical decision, because this weapon can go into battle right away, we know how to use it. It will quickly strengthen the defense in the critical period.

But we do not need a few Soviet weapons. It is often in poor condition, because it was made 30-40 years ago. There is not enough ammunition for her. Under such conditions, the Soviet weapons we have received will strengthen Ukraine only for a short time, ”the minister said.

This will be a strong signal to Russia that it will not succeed in depleting the Ukrainian army. On the contrary, the cost of war for Russia will increase tremendously.

The Ukrainian army will be able to put up effective resistance. This will be the best incentive to de-escalate and seek peace. The Minister of Defense is convinced that the Ukrainian military will quickly acquire new weapons.

"They have already shown that they are able to use Western complexes extremely effectively in combat. Proof of this is the loss of the enemy, which I mentioned at the beginning. We urge you to provide us with heavy weapons as soon as possible, "Reznikov said.

For example, 155 mm artillery is used in different countries. In this case, there will be no shortage of shells - it will not be a short-term, but a systemic solution.

Poll: 74% of Russians support the war in Ukraine, and 78% approve of Putin's actions

Among Russians, 74% support the so-called "special military operation" in Ukraine. Another 78% approve of the actions of Vladimir Putin, and 89% of respondents trust the Russian army.

The survey data was shared by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) on its official website.

Residents of the Russian Federation also believe that an information war is being waged against their country. This opinion is shared by 90% of the respondents.

62% of the polled citizens of Russia heard positive comments about the support of the war in Ukraine from others. More than half of the respondents reported that they viewed materials that demonstrate the negative actions of Russian soldiers in Ukraine. However, 41% of residents consider these data "rather false", and 39% did not see anything like that at all.

From the published statistics, it becomes clear that Putin's actions, the war in Ukraine and the Russian army are not supported by a very small percentage of the country's population. These are 13%, 17% and 8% respectively.

Recall that a month ago, VTsIOM published similar data. Then 71% of respondents supported the war in Ukraine. Judging by the updated figures, the number is only growing, despite irrefutable evidence of the atrocities of Russian soldiers in Bucha and other settlements.
