Russia has defaulted on foreign debt - CNN

The full currency default will be the first in Russia in more than a century.

Russia has defaulted on its foreign debt because it has offered bondholders payments in rubles, not dollars.

This was reported by CNN with reference to the credit rating agency S&P

Russia has tried to pay in rubles for two dollar-denominated bonds maturing on April 4, according to an S&P statement released on Friday.

The agency said it was tantamount to a "selective default" as investors were unlikely to be able to convert rubles into "dollars equivalent to the amounts originally due".

According to S&P, a selective default is declared when an entity defaults on a specific obligation but not on all of its debt.

Moscow has a 30-day grace period from April 4 to pay off capital and interest, but S&P has said it does not expect to convert them into dollars, given Western sanctions that undermine its "willingness and technical ability to meet its obligations."

It is noted that the full currency default will be the first in Russia in more than a century, when Lenin gave up bonds issued by the tsarist government.

World bestseller: Carl Gustaf grenade launcher is already in the Armed Forces of Ukraine - what is it cool

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already begun to seize one of the most popular grenade launchers in the world - Carl Gustaf.

At least the Kharkiv Territorial Defense is already conducting training with these new weapons.
3b56252d0f28663a.jpg

Note that the party of Swedish grenade launchers Carl Gustaf immediately after the start of a large-scale invasion of Russia promised to provide Canada. At the same time, there is a possibility that these grenade launchers were transferred to other allies of Ukraine. Because Carl Gustaf is one of the most widespread in the world and is in service with about 40 countries.
Its popularity is due to the simplicity and efficiency that Carl Gustaf has undergone since 1946 and four major upgrades. The most popular version of the M3 (Carl Gustaf m / 86), which was created in 1991, is the most popular now. It weighs up to 10 kg and has a 3x optical sight.
More modern - M4 is even lighter and weighs 6.8 kg and has a more powerful sight, but so far more or less common in the US Army, gradually displacing the version of M3 MAAWS.
Like any other grenade launcher, the grenade's capabilities are crucial in combat. And for Carl Gustaf there is a full range of shots. The most common are cumulative, capable of piercing up to 350-400 mm of armor. There is also a version with a tandem warhead that pierces 500 mm and ignores dynamic protection.

In addition to shots against armored vehicles, this grenade launcher has armor-piercing and fragmentary grenades to destroy enemy fortifications and manpower.

If you compare Carl Gustaf with the Soviet RPG-7, the Swedish grenade launcher, on average, twice the speed of the grenade, the penetration of cumulative ammunition is greater than both conventional and cumulative, and the effective range is 1.5 times greater.

Chemical attack in Mariupol: US and Europe promised Russia "dramatic measures" and "big consequences"
Russia was warned against the use of chemical weapons personally by the President of the United States and the Chancellor of Germany.

The Russian Federation used chemical weapons in Mariupol. An unknown poisonous substance was dropped from an enemy UAV.
In Mariupol, Donetsk region, the invaders used an unknown poisonous substance against the military and civilians. A poisonous substance was dropped from a drone in Mariupol, Azov reported. According to him, the victims have respiratory failure and vestibulo-atactic syndrome (which provokes a malfunction in the vascular system).

"...About an hour ago, the Russian occupying forces used against the Ukrainian military and civilians in the city of Mariupol a poisonous substance of unknown origin, dropped from an enemy UAV...", Azov said in a statement.
The production and use of chemical weapons is prohibited by an international treaty within the UN - the Chemical Weapons Convention. The agreement, in particular, was signed by the Russian Federation.
In March, world leaders spoke of the possibility of a chemical attack and warned Russia with consequences.

In particular, on March 20, US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield warned that Russia would face great consequences if it used chemical weapons on the territory of Ukraine, informs CNN.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02 to 12.04 were approximately:

278253926_293093683003717_27331425653643

The forty-eighth era of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion began.
The full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our State continues.
The enemy is trying to complete the regrouping and relocation of units to areas of concentration in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation, as well as the relocation of air and space forces to airfields in the immediate vicinity of Ukraine's eastern borders.
The Russian occupiers, ignoring the norms of international humanitarian law, continue to use tactics of placing equipment and manpower directly in housing. Thus, in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhia and Kherson oblasts, the occupiers use the premises of agricultural enterprises, energy and social infrastructure facilities, and the central districts of settlements. Cases of enemy fighting in civilian clothes have been reported.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the enemy did not take active action. No changes in the position and actions of enemy units in these areas have been recorded.
In the northern direction, the enemy completes the redeployment of individual units to the eastern operational zone. Units of the 41st All-Military Army of the Central Military District are being relocated to designated areas in the Belgorod and Voronezh oblasts.
In the Slobozhansky direction, enemy troops continue to partially block the city of Kharkiv. In the area of the city of Izyum, the enemy is fighting with separate units of the 1st Panzer and 20th All-Army. Conducts air reconnaissance in order to identify the positions of units of our troops and determine the routes of their deployment.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the enemy is fighting and holding certain borders with forces from the Southern Military District. Carries out the movement of additional units to conduct hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
There are signs of strengthening the air defense system in the areas of Melitopol and Ilovaisk.
It is likely that in the future the enemy will try to take control of the city of Mariupol, capture Popasna and launch an offensive in the direction of Kurakhove in order to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy holds certain boundaries by units of the Southern Military District. Replenishes regular losses in manpower and equipment. It tries to ensure the survival of its own control points. The enemy does not stop trying to gain a foothold on the administrative borders of Kherson region.
In the waters of the Black and Azov Seas, enemy naval groups continue to perform tasks related to the isolation of the area of hostilities, reconnaissance, and fire support of ground units.
The threat of the enemy's use of missile weapons remains.
In the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, our soldiers repulsed six enemy attacks, destroyed four tanks, five armored units, twenty-six vehicles and eight enemy artillery systems.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has hit seven air targets in the previous day: one plane, two helicopters and four unmanned aerial vehicles.
We will report on the total losses of the enemy later.
Let's win together! Glory to Ukraine!

...

The enemy is planning terrorist attacks on its territory to inject anti-Ukrainian hysteria
"Russian special services are planning a series of terrorist attacks to blow up and blow up residential buildings, hospitals and schools in Russian settlements. As well as the launch of missile and bomb strikes on the city of Belgorod or one of the cities of Crimea, "said in a comment to the press service of the agency the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kirill Budanov.

The occupiers raped Ukrainian women: 9 pregnant women in Bucha, husbands of two women killed near Kyiv

Terrible facts about the rape of Ukrainian women by the Russian occupiers continue to be revealed. The Ombudsman of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova spoke about such egregious cases.

In a comment to the NYT, she noted that she had recorded horrific cases of sexual violence by Russian troops in Bucha and other cities. Thus, a group of women and girls in the suburbs of Kiev were kept in the basement of the house for 25 days. According to her, nine of them are now pregnant.

the occupiers resort to violence as a place of revenge for the Ukrainian resistance, and Russian soldiers use rape as a weapon of war against women in Ukraine.

In addition, journalists from the BBC listened to first-hand testimony and found evidence of rape of Ukrainian women by the occupiers.

In a quiet rural area 70 km west of Kiev, the media spoke with 50-year-old Anna (name changed). She said that she was at home with her husband on March 7 when the occupier broke in. Threatening with a weapon, he ordered the woman to undress and raped her.

"While he was raping me, four more soldiers came in. I thought it was the end. But they took him away. I never saw him again," she said.

Anna returned home and found her husband wounded in the stomach.

"He tried to run after me to save me, but he was shot," she said, adding that the man could not be taken to hospital due to the fighting, and died two days later from his injuries.

Anna kept crying as she told her story. She showed where she and her neighbors buried her husband in the backyard. At the top of the tomb stands a high wooden cross. The woman said she was in contact with a local hospital and receiving psychological support.

On the way from Anna's house, journalists heard another scary story.

A local woman was raped and killed, and neighbors say it was the same man who raped Anna. The woman was 40 years old. She was taken out of the house and kept in the bedroom of the next house, there are big blood stains on the mattress and blankets. The unfortunate woman was raped and her throat was cut, she was buried in the garden of the house.

The day after the journalists' visit, police exhumed her body to investigate. The body was found without clothes, with a deep, long incision across the neck.

Kyiv Region Police Chief Andrei Nebitov spoke about another case they are investigating in a village 50 km west of Kyiv. A family of three - a couple in their thirties and their young child - lived in a house on the edge of the village.

"On March 9, several Russian army soldiers broke into the house. The husband tried to protect his wife and child. So they shot him in the yard," Nebytov said.

"After that, two soldiers repeatedly raped his wife. They left and then returned. They returned three times to rape her. They threatened that if she resisted, they would harm her little boy. To protect her child, she did not resist." added the chief of police of the Kiev region.

As the occupiers left, they burned the house and shot the family's dogs. The woman and her son escaped and then turned to the police.

Earlier, 33-year-old Ukrainian Natalia (not a real name) said that she was raped for several hours by drunken Russian occupiers. In addition, they shot her husband in the yard of their house in the Kiev region.

The war in Ukraine will halve the growth of world trade - the WTO

Russia's military aggression against Ukraine will halve world trade growth.

This is stated in the analysis of the effects of the war on trade conducted by the World Trade Organization (WTO).

"The war in Ukraine not only caused a huge humanitarian crisis, but also dealt a serious blow to the world economy," the WTO said.

It is noted that the reduction in trade and production is likely to be felt by people around the world due to rising prices for food and energy and reduced availability of goods exported by Ukraine and Russia.

The WTO predicts that the crisis could reduce world GDP growth by 0.7-1.3 percentage points, resulting in growth of 3.1% to 3.7% in 2022.

It is also projected that world trade growth this year could almost halve from 4.7% projected by the WTO in October last year to 2.4-3%.

"Although the share of Russia and Ukraine in total world trade and production is relatively small, they are important suppliers of basic products, especially food and energy. Both countries supplied about 25% of wheat, 15% of barley and 45% of sunflower exports in 2019. Only on Russia accounted for 9.4% of world fuel trade, including 20% of natural gas exports, "the WTO said.

It is noted that Russia and Ukraine are also key suppliers of inputs into supply chains.

Thus, Russia is one of the world's major suppliers of palladium and rhodium, key resources for the production of catalytic converters for cars. The production of semiconductors largely depends on the neon supplied to Ukraine. It is emphasized that disruptions in the supply of these materials can hit car manufacturers.

The Russian artist Yuri Annenkov (1889-1974) made sketches about the Civil War in his diaries. This is how he described his dacha in Finland after the Red Army men had been there.
“In 1918, after the flight of the Red Guards from Finland, I snuck into Kuokalla (it was still possible) to look at my house. It was winter. In the ermine snowy splendor, a pitiful freak stuck out in its place - a log house with a torn roof, with broken windows, with black holes instead of doors. Icy mountains of human feces covered the floor. On the walls, almost to the ceiling, urine turned yellow in frozen streams, and the charcoal marks had not yet been erased: 2 arshins (Russian measure of length). 2 inches. (Russian measure of length), 2 arshins. 5 inches, 2 arshins. 10 inches…. The machine gunner Matvey Glushkov turned out to be the winner in this kind of championship of the Red Guards: he reached 2 arshins. 12 inches high.
A hanging lamp torn from the ceiling with meat was trampled into a pile of human feces. Near the lamp is a note:
“Thank you for the lamp, bourgeois, it shone well for us.”
The floorboards are split with an axe, the wallpaper is ripped off, pierced by bullets, the iron beds are cramped to death, the blue tea sets are turned into splinters, the metal utensils - pots, pans, teapots - are filled to the top with human excrement. They defecated incomprehensibly abundantly everywhere: on all floors on the floor, on the stairs - smoothing the steps, on tables, in drawers, on chairs, on mattresses, they threw pieces of feces at the ceiling. Here's another note:
"Smell our shit smells good."
On the third floor is the only surviving room. There is a note on the door:
"Comrade Commander".
On the table is a chamber pot with half-eaten buckwheat porridge and a spoon stuck into it ... "

As if he wrote about today's Bucha (a city near Kyiv), nothing has changed at all in 100 years.

The photo shows the consequences of the stay of the Russian army in the homes of Ukrainians.

▪He is convinced that the failure of the mobilization plan in Russia is forcing the Putin regime to launch dirty scenarios to emotionally stir up Russian society and consolidate it even more against Ukrainians: the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteer battalions to create an emotional picture of the "atrocities of Ukrainian nationalists." It is quite possible that these terrorist attacks will be presented as revenge of Ukrainians for Bucha and Kramatorsk and as a justification of cruelty against the Ukrainian civilian population, "the head of the GUR emphasized.
"In recent days, the Russian government has been increasingly dispersing the flywheel of anti-Ukrainian hysteria. Trenches are being actively dug in Belgorod and Kursk oblasts, and panic is flaring up over the imaginary offensive of Ukrainian volunteer battalions and sabotage groups, ”Budanov added. In his opinion, it is very symbolic that Putin's rule began with hebezh terrorist attacks against Russian apartment buildings, which became the basis for the destruction of Chechnya. And now, it seems, it ends with the same methods.

The results of the meeting between Putin and Lukashenko, which lasted more than 3 hours:
Putin:

📍What is happening in Ukraine is a tragedy, but Russia had no choice.
📍In the situation of the sanctions war, it is important to deepen the integration of the Union State. The Russian Federation and Belarus have fulfilled more than 30% of the planned integration plans.
📍In the energy sector, the coordination of the project of the united electricity market with Minsk has been completed. Payments for gas in rubles with Minsk will minimize the negative impact of sanctions.
📍The Belarusian platform is suitable for negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
Lukashenka:
📍If Russia had been even a little late with the operation, then a crushing blow would have been dealt to Russian territory.
📍 What happened in Bucha is a "British special operation".
📍"We once decided that the Cold War was over. The West didn't think so. They didn't destroy us then, they decided to try now."
📍 No sanctions will lead Russia and Belarus astray.

...

Putin said about Ukraine:
📍"The goals of the operation to protect the Donbass will be achieved, they are noble - help to the Donbass."
📍"A clash with the anti-Russian forces growing in Ukraine was inevitable, it was a matter of time."
📍The quantitative and qualitative potential of the Russian satellite constellation will be significantly expanded;
📍Russia and Belarus will jointly form the infrastructure in the space sector, and asked Roskosmos to provide training and flight into space for a representative of Belarus;
📍The Russian Armed Forces in the course of a special military operation in Ukraine act courageously, competently, efficiently and effectively, use the most modern types of weapons;
📍“Kyiv publicly refused to comply with the Minsk agreements, it was impossible to continue to endure the genocide”;
📍"Russia is not going to isolate itself and it is impossible to isolate it from the whole world";
📍"Russia will develop its own competencies to replace those that it used to be able to buy for petrodollars"

...
...I have no words...
It's kind of a parallel reality...

I don't understand how you can be such an idiot...

Marauding is a tradition of the Russian army
New facts of war crimes and crimes against humanity that the Russian occupiers have committed and continue to commit appear every day. Against the background of mass cases of rape, torture and killing of civilians, looting is no longer surprising.
Unpretentious orcs steal everything from washing machines and mixers to underpants and kennels. Even the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was no exception. Belarus became the transshipment base of the heroically stolen and looted, from where they send it all home. The industrial scale of the looting leaves no doubt that we are dealing with an army of marauders.
And this is not about a "program failure" or an unpredictable "anomaly". This is a very long-standing tradition of the Russian army, which is passed down from generation to generation. As in everything else in Russia, behind the "codes" written about the human eye, there is a real "second army of the world", which fights not for values and not for the "fatherland". They fight for other people's property, which they heroically acquire by breaking down the doors of apartments, chasing chickens in the village yard and taking everything they want.
This was the case several centuries ago, in the last century and in the present century. There are more than enough examples. The Russian army fought in Chechnya, Georgia, and Syria. Now looters are fighting like this in Ukraine. They are simply true to their true traditions - the traditions of looting that they inherited from their "grandfathers". Here is just one example.
At the end and after the end of World War II, Soviet looting in Germany became gigantic. It was called the more amiable term "trophy". Everyone looted: privately soldiers, officers and, especially on a large scale, generals, as well as officially, at the state level, the authorities of the Soviet Union.
Russian researchers Mikhail Semiryaga and Boris Knyshevsky came across official data from the USSR's Main Trophy Department in the 1990s, and found that state trophies alone fit in 400,000 cars.
In particular, “2885 factories and 96 power plants were transported. 1 million 335 thousand head of cattle were overtaken. 2.3 million tons of grain, 1 million tons of potatoes and vegetables, 0.5 million tons of fat and sugar, 20 million liters of alcohol were confiscated.
Also, 60,000 grand pianos, 460,000 radios, 190,000 carpets, 940,000 pieces of furniture, 265,000 wall and table clocks, 1,200,000 men's and women's coats, 1 million hats and 186 wagons of wine were officially removed from the Soviet occupation zone. These things at symbolic prices came into the possession of the Soviet nomenklatura. In addition, hundreds of thousands of museum exhibits were exported. The fate of many of them is still unknown.
So did the Soviet state. The amount of private looting of Soviet soldiers and officers is incalculable, although it is clear that it was enormous.
Given all this, should we be surprised by what has been happening since 2014 in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine? Public and private looting has been flourishing here for eight years now: factory equipment, coal, machinery are being exported to Russia, housing and property are being confiscated from Ukrainians… In 2022, Russian looting came to other Ukrainian lands.

Ukrainian pilots launch "Buy me a fighter plane" campaign - appeal to the richest people on the planet
The shooting of the video "Buy me a fighter jet" was carried out against the background of the fired combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Since the beginning of the war, we have begged NATO to close our skies or provide us with fighters. But the world's governments fear the escalation and spread of the conflict beyond Ukraine. We ask you, philanthropist, to use your financial, organizational and political capabilities to buy and hand ", - it is said in the address.
It will be recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has been asking NATO to "close the skies" over the country by establishing a no-fly zone.

The President of France considers Ukrainians and Muscovites to be "fraternal peoples".
Ukrainians and Muscovites really have a lot in common. Blood, for example. Muscovites like to drink the blood of Ukrainians.
The rapist is closer to the victim than the bystander. It may even seem to the observer that the victim is dying of pleasure.
And yet, what a shame that the nation of Gottfried of Bouillon, Saint Louis, Joan of Arc and Napoleon is led, God forbid, by Macron!

...

Macron refused to call Russia's crimes against Ukrainians genocide
Asked whether he, like US President Joe Biden, would use the term "genocide" to describe the killing of Ukrainians by the Russian military, Macron said: "I will be wary of such terms today because these two peoples are Russians and Ukrainians are brothers."
"I want to continue to try as hard as I can to stop this war and restore peace. I am not sure that the escalation of rhetoric serves this cause," he added.

Operational update on #russian_invasion at 06.00 April 13, 2022.

The forty-ninth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues. The Russian Federation continues its full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.
the Russian enemy continues to launch missile and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv and Zaporozhye regions. Actively conducts air reconnaissance.
Until April 26, the Russian Federation introduced the so-called “yellow level of terrorist threat” in the areas bordering our country and in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. These events are likely to be carried out in order to organize the movement of military equipment, weapons and personnel across the territory of Ukraine.
The invaders continue to send so-called "volunteers" to Ukraine. Thus, according to available information, a battalion of about 400 people has been formed in the Leningrad Region. Composed exclusively of military personnel with combat experience. They were sent to Ukraine to reinforce one of the units of the 42nd motorized rifle division of the 8th VSV.
In the Siversky direction, it is possible to keep separate units in the border regions of the Kursk region with Ukraine for demonstrative actions in order to deter our forces.
A partial blockade and artillery shelling of the city of Kharkov continues in the Slobozhansky direction. In some temporarily occupied territories, the enemy resorted to the formation of units of the so-called "people's militia". “Relevant work is being carried out to implement these measures.
In the Donetsk and Tavria directions, the Russian enemy continued to inflict airstrikes on Mariupol. Launches an offensive near the Azovstal metallurgical complex and the Seaport.
In the Yuzhnobuhsky direction, the enemy is trying to capture individual settlements, but to no avail.
Over the past day, the defenders of Ukraine repulsed six enemy attacks, destroyed two enemy vehicles and three artillery systems in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
A Su-25 Russian enemy plane was shot down the day before by a group of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy significantly reduced the use of aircraft due to weather conditions.
We believe in ZSU! Let's win together! Glory to Ukraine!

The same "Russian warship" went where he was sent...  :)

The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched two missile strikes on the enemy cruiser "Moscow". This was announced by Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko.
after the strikes the cruiser lost combat capability. Now it needs to be handed over for repair. However, they will still not be able to use it next year.
as a storm is raging at sea, tactical cruising of the cruiser is required.

Russian "recruits" are handed out decommissioned bulletproof vests - reconnaissance (photo)

Russians mobilized into the army are provided with decommissioned and unusable bulletproof vests.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"Russian servicemen, at the expense of which they replenish the units most affected in the war against Ukraine, receive unusable and decommissioned rubbish as equipment," the message says.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, on March 12, the Russian railway delivered a cargo of 5,006 bulletproof vests to the "recruits". Upon arrival of the cargo, it turned out that the fabric of the body armor was almost completely rotted, and the metal armor plates were rusted.

"Body armor was removed from long-term storage", where they lay for years in conditions of high humidity. Now this "protection" is not physically able to really protect anyone. It is still unknown how the Russian mobilized responded to such deliveries," the Defense Ministry said.

NATO is very afraid of the Russian army, so it does not want direct contact between troops. But the Russian army is one big soap bubble. Rusty weapons from warehouses, stolen equipment, expired food rations and a lot of obsolete tanks. The soldiers of the Russian army are good at fighting civilians and stealing valuables from civilians. And they also know how to kill civilians and mock them.
