Hi all, I'm working on a custom package - bottle and stopper are unique. I'm running into an issue with tamper-proofing the bottle. Because of the unique shape of the bottle and stopper we won't be able to use a shrink band or paper seal. My best guess is that we'll need to use an integrated band with the closure itself. Given the shape and design, it'd probably be best to use a cap like Disaronno uses - the security seal is inside the cap. Anybody know the proper terminology to research this or know how they got it done? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Has anyone had any experience with off shore bottle suppliers? I am currently debating going to a custom bottle with an off shore manufacturer but I am unsure of the suppliers and was wondering if anyone had any experiences and/or advice to share good or bad. Specifically, I am looking at a chinese company for production of my bottles that would cut my costs but almost half delivered... Thanks! Mike

I would like to notify you of new opportunities we have opening up here at Grand Traverse Distillery in terms of whiskey production. Located in Traverse City we have been distilling Michigan grown grains since January of 2007. Starting with rye vodka we then expanded the line to include a variety of vodka products, whiskey, gin and rum. The past four years we have invested heavily in whiskey production, (100% straight rye whiskey and bourbon). Our Ole George 100% Straight Rye Whiskey is all rye, no corn or malted barley in the mash bill and has been awarded many top metals and best of category several years at the annual ADI meeting. Our current operation can supply all our clear spirit needs and we can put up around 200 53-gallon barrels of whiskey per year. In 2018 we have a new 2,500L whiskey still coming in from Holstein. This still can increase our production of whiskey well beyond our needs at this time and if we pick up five more fermentation tanks we would be able to distill around 600 53-gallon barrels per year. We have local farms that can supply our current and future grain requirements and with a local malting house only three miles from our distillery malted barley and malted rye needs are taken care of. What’s the bottom line? In 2018 and into the near future we have excess capacity for whiskey production. Are there distilleries that would be interested in contract whiskey distillation? If so let’s talk and see if we can help you increase your craft whiskey inventories. Just last fall we acquired an additional 5,000sf of barrel storage. Currently, we are aging over 650 barrels of whiskey and have room to age your spirit. If you choose we can also help your operation with aged product along with custom whiskey production. The advantage in doing this is you can have today the same spirit that in going into your new barrels. You are welcome to develop your own mash bill. Hi all, Does anyone have a good, affordable recommendation for a bottle supplier who does custom embossing? I want to have a small logo embossed on the upper part of my bottle similar to where Reyka has its embossing (pictured below). Thanks!

I'm requesting a quote for a cases (our bottles are bulk packed from the factory) and the rep asked if we wanted RSC (regular slotted containers) or AFM (all folds meet). I think the standard is RSC but this is a question I've literally never came across before. Any thoughts? For the record, the quote is coming from the bottle supplier (Saver) so they are fully aware of bottle dimensions and durability. cheers

We have: 1. excess distilling capacity 2. access to new oak barrels in a variety of sizes 3. ability to produce fantastic whiskey, in custom mash bills or standard recipes We are looking for distilleries or brand owners that are wanting to either catch up or get ahead on their whiskey stocks by contracting with us to produce their bulk whiskey here in Middleton, Wisconsin. Our ideal customers are looking for anywhere from four to twelve barrels of whiskey a month on a standing "subscription" basis. We can produce on a regular schedule and either hold for truckload quantities or ship individual barrels when completed. Each batch will have mashing notes, grain tracking data, and arrive in a brand new, white oak barrels, charred or toasted to your specifications. Some of our customers have aged their whiskey from us in the past couple of years and are now winning awards for its taste and quality. Break the habit of working with the "you'll take what we make for you" bulk whiskey distilleries and enjoy being actively involved in the process of making a unique and high-quality spirit that will have much stronger marketing value. This is a still I delivered today to Du Nord craft spirits in Minneapolis, MN. Chris and Shanelle are a joy to work with! They will be up and running very soon. It is 13' tall, 156 gallon cap, 5 ele elements (controller) not shown, 8 " main port with several other for expansion, gin basket, 20 plate column, dephlegmator, batch pre-warmer, condenser, parrot, and work station. All hand made by my very own Red Boot Still company right here in Iowa. Before the end of December I will be delivering a continuous still that will process 2-3 gpm. So look for updates.
